all the speed freaks standing in line to get their fixes at the local coffee cart.
If it's quitting time in the afternoon & they're Irish (or, if they're drinking Irish coffee), they can walk away singing "I'll Take You Home Again, Kaffeine," begorra man.

Legacy man, can't you even pop a No-Doz or similar generic tablet? It's not a very good mind-movie to picture someone who's caffeinelessly wobbling out of bed, lurching in elliptical circles, and ultimately stumbling into the furniture, no man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I can do whatever I want but the professionals are advising that I not.

Those cans are missing arms. ;)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

As the person who posted the original topic that was closed, I just wanted to know if it would be OK to post the question again or would it be against the TOS? It wasn't a topic that I thought would be controversial at all.

This 'need to restart a fight' - are you certain that you're on the right web portal?

This 'fighting business' on long-term-grudges needs to stop.

If ya can't play nice here, and have established, historical pattern of 'not playing nice' here -

ya need to be elsewhere.

VJ ain't the place, it's not yer playground.

There are other portals. You should utilize them, invite yer opponents to follow you. Elsewhere.

Well - it is really. Like it or no - that's simply the reality of the situation.

As long as the arguing is kept out of the upper forums where people are actually searching for information on the immigration process, the admin has historically tolerated the arguing (up to a point) in the OT section.

There probably does indeed need to be less "fighting", but that isn't going to happen when there are deep personality clashes. Some people simply do not like each other, have no intention of resolving the issues and no desire to put the other person on "ignore". What are you going to do?

What was the question?

What was the question?

Basically, did other people think that the process made them have more petty arguments with their fiance or spouse? I just feel like it makes us bicker more than when we were just boyfriend and girlfriend. I just wanted other people's viewpoints.

No. But I can see why it might.

No. But I can see why it might.

It was an honest question, and some people took the time to answer it and I really appreciated hearing what other people thought about it, on both sides. I was having a bad day and wanted to know what other people went through. I had NO idea that the thread would get so out of control. :(
