I started calling 1 month after I send my packet 3. You can call DoS (Department of State) 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0. They will ask you for your case number which is in your packet 3.

Thanks! But um...my package 3 doesnt have my case number on it anywhere...My finace told me the case number he got from the NVC starts with MTL...is that the one?

or do you mean the confirmation number after filling out the online ds 160?

At the moment, it's likely more like 8+ weeks. I'm through 8 weeks now and still waiting. So hard to be positive! Good luck!

Hello,

I am a bit confused about what packet 3 and 4 are...

Packet 3 is the checklist and printed out forms (156, 160 etc, correct?

I called medisys and they said all I need to do the tests is my case #.

So I completed all the medical stuff and sent out my packet #3 (checklist) AFTER I did the medical exams.

Now that I am looking at everyones time frame,

I noticed that most of you have:

sent p3

did medical

sent p4

Did I do the order wrong?

Should I have done the medical AFTER sending p3?

Also, is there something I need to wait for and respond to after the medical (such as a 4th packet) ?

Or am I simply waiting for my interview date now?

Sorry about all the questions

and thanks for your help

Hi there, as long as you didnt mail in the medical with the packet 3 then you are fine. Most of us here are very eager OCD VJers and we found out that we didnt have to wait to get the medical in order to check it off as long as we made sure we had the medical done/passed and the results in hand by the time of teh interview....and since Mtl is soooo slow we were able to book our medicals after sending in packet 3. The ONLY issue you may have is when it come times for your AOS (adjustment of status)...if you wait along time after you get the visa to enter on teh K1 and then wait awhile to get married your medical may expire before your AOS (your medical is good for one year) this will not be a HUGE issue as you can get one re-done when you are in the states it is just more costly BUT if you plan on going on in soon after K1 in hand then you shouldnt have a problem.

Hope that makes sense...oh and your questions are alwys welcome here!

oh oh and packet 4 just has the interview date on it and give you instructions for teh interview (I believe)...I am still awaiting the packet 4...

Hey MSR,

I called to try adn indulge your question and all she said was "eligible but not schedualed" and then quickly yet politely hung up....

AAUGH! I've spoken to two operators who don't know how to do their jobs! The second asked me if MAYBE there was a different consulate! LMAO! Wow, give me a job there, at least I'll do it right!

Still on hold.
