First of all, I agree with JaP and thats all Im going to say about that.

Secondly,

Our interview was an interview from hell! The officer was very militant... He started us off by reprimanding us for talking... which fine, I get that. It is an interview. Then he asked for our LPR documents and my documents of proof as a US citizen. Then he proceeded to talk about our age difference. Then he asked for our documents of shared things. We didn't have a lot to begin with. I explained why. He asked if either of us was married before or had children. He asked random questions off of the I-485. He then proceeded to seperate us. I kept saying a prayer to God to help Steve and I be on the same page with things and to tell the WHOLE truth as we knew it. When Steve left, he proceeded to remind me that Jamaica is high fraud country and that I needed to be careful because they needed to make sure he wasn't trying to use me to gain access to the good ol U S of A.

Questions asked in no particular order: (This is when I looked him square in the eyes in "Rashida mode"

Have you ever been married before?

Do you have children?

How many?

What are there names and ages?

Oh they have different fathers..

What hours do I work?

What hours does he work?

How much money does he give you?

Does he give you extra money?

What are you in school for?

What is the make and model and year of your car?

How do you get to work?

How does he get to work?

Do you have wedding pictures?

Who was at your wedding?

Can I have two of the pictures for your file?

Who helped him get his job?

What color are the bedsheets?

What color are the rugs in the bathroom?

When did you meet?

How did you meet?

How many times have you been to Jamaica?

Why did you go to Jamaica?

Im probably forgetting the rest of them. Then he called Steve back in and questioned him:

Where did you meet?

What year did you meet?

How many times has your wife been to Jamaica?

What color are the bed sheets?

What color are the rugs

How many times have you been married.

How old are her children?

Do you get along with her son?

What is she in school for?

What time does she get home?

Do you give her money?

Probably more questions but I can't remember...

Steve told them the wrong year and I kept kicking his foot. He then remember by saying "I got the dates confused, I met her in blah blah blah"

After all of the questioning, he said well you started off rocky, but I will make my decision by the end of the day. You should receive something in the mail in the next 2 to 3 weeks. If you don't agree with the results you can schedule an infopass appoint and blah blah blah thats all I heard. I damn near ran out of the building. We were there for 1 and 1/2 hours.

I DESPISE USCIS!!!!!

Ok I understand that you were talking about a real life person, but that real life person has some of the same characteristics as alot of our fellow sisters on here. I understand thats your opinion but when it effects so many, it came off offending someone. You started it as a topic for someone to comment and thats what I did. Not to be a cheering section, but to also put my opinion in.

Now if someone came on here talking about they dont agree with long distance relationships, or women that have kids that get into new relationships with someone from another country, thats there opinion, but if its negative like that and affects alot on here then it has to be addressed.

Ive noticed that you are very blunt and strong with your comments, and off the internet I am also, but Im a little guarded because these are relationships I wanna keep and not tarnish and this is a learning experience for us all!

So with that being said.

Yes your opinion matter, because your not a newbie, your a seasoned veteran, but KJ is young and new and we need to build her up b4 we put her down     just joking KJ

But for real, your opinion matters as much as anyone elses so you dont need to sugarcoat but when it affects someone on her you do have to think about feelings!! (Just my opinion)

Still love you JaE, hope this didnt tarnish our relationship  because we want to take pictures of the baby when she come :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

Now, absolutely I understand my comment was there to be commented on, but I get the feeling that if it hadn't applied to KJ, you would have a) co-signed or b) kept on walking.

Nothing wrong with defending a friend, but that's where my cheering squad comment came from.

In real life and the internet, I'm the same in that I have a very strong opinion and have no problem voicing it. But also, in real life and the internet I NEVER tear down someone for the choices they've made even if I don't agree with it. Because what's done is DONE, all a comment from me will do is hurt them. And in real life and the net, I will never deliberately cause emotional harm to anyone. Now, if we are talking trading catty comments, I'm there! But seriously, I do not air my opinions if they aren't going to DO something constructive, make someone think about the way they are handling some thing or enable them to decide to make a positive change.

Now, it doesn't mean I don't see someone doing something I think is crazy and have an opinion about that. Means I normally keep it to myself. Unless it is USEFUL.

Now regarding my real life friend, I know me saying anything to her isn't going to make a blind bit of difference, she's going to do what she wants to do. And as a friend, I'll be there to support HER decision because that's HER choice. But it bothers me. Because I think, the natural order of things are - parents raise kids, kids move out, get married, get their own place, raise their own kids. Now, that's MY opinion. Other people have different opinions, and ABSOLUTELY do what they think is best for them.

Now, had I closely been following KJ's story, would I have made the comment I did? Nope. because despite the fact I think she's brash to the point of arrogance, it would hit home to her and possibly affect her in some way. But would it make a difference? Nope, she's pregnant already, only purpose it would serve is to cause anger/upset.

As for building her up, ABSOLUTELY, the purpose of this board is to ENHANCE and ENRICH people's lives, whether through getting a better idea of the immigration process, of through shared stories to understand why you husband is doing XYZ, or just being a listener because there's stuff you want to share that doesn't have a place anywhere else or you can't tell your family.

Buttttttt, with that said, the BIGGEST piece of advice I can give ANYONE is, NEVER allow ANYONE'S OPINION to defeat, demean or negatively affect you. Listen to people yes, but discard what is not uplifting and go from there.

Now, something with me, while I may have strong opinions, I defend to the DEATH your right to voice them! So, even if we phoned each other every day, I wouldn't be mad, I'd take what you said as how it was meant, how you felt.

You weren't referring to me but still yet you quoted my post with "good luck with that" yea ok. I'm done discussing this, we both said we have to say and I don't regret what I said, simple.

First of all, I agree with JaP and thats all Im going to say about that.
