Good Morning fellow VJ Family,

I filed an I-130 petition for my Step Son living in Vietnam. The case was approved by USCIS and forwarded to the NVC. Paid all fees at NVC, filed the Agent form and I-864EZ. Got a response for checklist and missing DS-230. At that time we were waiting for a few documents from Vietnam. We received them and mailed the DS-230 to NVC. NVC stated they received the checklist on June 22 and they needed 6 to 8 weeks to review. I called this morning and to a great suprise I got the following message:

This case was completed on August 5th. Please allow 8 weeks for further Instruction.

I would assume they are saying it has been approved? :dance:

Could anyone please advise me on what is going to happen next? For looking at peoples timelines it seems people are getting the interview about 1 1/2 months after approval. When will we be notified of interview date and what method of notification? Also, when should my son get his medical? He needs to travel by plane to do so.

03-14-10 - Paid Affidavit of Support Fee and IV Bill online

03-16-10 - NVC Website updated to PAID for both fee's

03-17-10 - Petitioner and Agent received emails to further proceed with case

08-05-10 - NVC Case Completed

10-27-10 - Interview PASSED

10-28-10 - Picked up Visa

hi mike my case is at the same place where yours is. The information you receieved means that the case is now complete the only thing you are waiting on is an interview date. they schedule interveiws the 2nd week of evry month so based on the number of appointments available at the embassy then they will give you a date. they will give you information via email when an interveiw date is assigned..... then after receiving that info you can go ahead anddo the medical as they give you enough trime for the medical to be completed before the interveiw.
