Hi All

I am finally getting it together for this packet 3 to send back to the Embassy in London but I need some clarification on what to send if someone can help quickly please?

Covering letter, do I need one for the forms? Will the barcode on the DS-156 do this?

DS-156K, depending on where you look on the embassy website it says it has to go with packet 3 or when you have your interview & have all supporting evidence? I will not have my police certs ready to send in so not sure if I should include or not.

Ds-2001, is this required in PAcket 3 as well?

Thanks

All you need to send are the forms. The "supporting evidence" is what you take with you to the interview. So, yes, you send the 156K in P3, but you don't have to send the police certificate. You take that with you to the interview.

As for the 2001 checklist, that doesn't have to go at the same time as the rest of the forms. You send that once you have all your supporting evidence gathered. Sending that form tells the embassy that you are ready for the interview. You don't send the evidence with it, you just let them know that you have it.

Thanks marlea

I contacted the embassy as well, (expensive phone call that!!) & they confirmed the same.

Wish they would make the instructions a little clearer on the website, but I guess that's why we have this forum huh?

Are you the one in the US, or is your fiance? Because if you need to call to check up on things, the one who is in the US can also call the Department of State here in Washington, DC, and get pretty much the same information and it's just the cost of a long distance call (which is typically free on most cell phone plans). The number is 202-663-1225, press 0 then press 1 to get to an person.
