Petitioner accompanying fiance during interview

I was just wondering, how much would it help for the petitioner to join the fiance during the interview in USEM Manila? I am still debating on whether to go to the Philippines to accompany her and her interview is next week.

We have been dating for almost 7 years and have so many documents showing our relationship. I even sent her a letter from the church where we will get married and the reception venue contract showing that I already paid a deposit.

..i dont know if its needed..i think it doesnt matter if the petitioner is there..as long as you have all the supporting ducoments then its fine..:)

I figured...

Does anyone know if the interview is in a room or do they just stand outside the glassed cubicle? Also, if the petitioner is present, can he/she be beside the fiance during the interview?

Being there during interview is a big plus to the eye of the consul. However with the length of your relationship and with your tons of evidence wether your present or not she'll be OK.

The interview is conducted inside a room with a glass partition between the CO and your fiancee. If u accompany ur fiancee, u can also go with her in the room.. Goodluck!

posters above are correct....

there are lots of fiancee's got their visa w/o their petitioner as long as there is no problem with their docs.

but being there beside her is really a great plus to the CO and if there is a problem its good that the petitioner is there already... to be on her interview with the CO is depends on the CO if he will permit u or not to go inside the room....

good luck....

We received our NOA2 last December and we had always planned on being together in Manila on Valentine's Day so we decided to schedule the embassy interview for right after Feb 14th so that I could attend it with her. My sense of the situation is that she would have passed without me there. The interview with the CO went very fast and easy and maybe it wouldn't have been so easy for her if I wasn't there, but my feeling is that she still would have passed. The down side was that I could not really afford another trip to accompany her back to the US, so she had to fly here alone. If that's an issue for you, you might want to skip making the trip for the interview and put your time and money into flying there when she is ready to leave, so you can fly back with her. Besides, after 7 years you should have tons of pics, receipts, etc for her to take to the interview and prove the legitimacy of your relationship. Good Luck!

It's up to the CO if you can attend the interview with your Fiance.

From what I have seen and heard, Usually they let the K1 Petitioner attend, it the couples that are already married that they don't allow the petitioner in the room.

Letters from churchs and other documents are easily forged now of days....
