How did you meet?

Hi everyone,

So I'm just wondering if anybody else would like to share how they met their love one! This way, we can all feel better going through our interview knowing how other people met, and how not so weird our own personal meeting situations actually are!

I'll start!

I met Chris through a friend. This friend went on a road trip to Virginia and Georgia to follow a metal band he was fan of. Met Chris at a show, and became friends. Next summer, Chris wants to visit Quebec, he comes down and our mutual friend introduces us! And he had me at hello!

I actually met my husband online while on a co-op workterm in Alberta. I'm from the east coast, and when winter hit I found myself really homesick. It was frigid, it was boring, and I couldn't have missed my friends and family more. I've always liked video games (a geek, I know ) so I decided I might as well buy an XBOX 360 to give me something to do after work on those cold, dark evenings.

I really enjoyed it but immediately discovered that playing multiplayer games on XBOX Live as a woman attracts certain kinds of attention. Long story short, after a couple of weeks I was desperately searching for some people to play online with who wouldn't hit on me or belittle me because I was a girl playing video games. I found an online community of Christians (although non-Christians are also welcome) who game online and absolutely loved it. I met a lot of people who I now consider friends from that community and the very first "friend" I met there became my husband almost two years later

We were both members for months and never talked. One day they decided to open up an MSN chat room and I couldn't figure out how to get in. I posted an SOS on the board and my now husband struck up a conversation and walked me through it. I guess the rest is history!

I met Chris on an online game called world of warcraft..(Yes there is a whole thread on wowers)I actually was good friends with his brother kevin and kevins girlfriend and when they split up I talked him through his "sadness". I guess I made a lastly impression on kevin as he told his brother how nice of a person I was. Months later $Chris and I saw each other in game and just started talking. My first words to him were I was just about to poke you..hi! First friends then it became more. Funny how you can met the perfect man in the place you wouldn"t think of

Scott & I met because of the Kid Rock Cruise. We met in person in Toronto at a Kid Rock concert Labour Day w/e last year. We fell head over heels in love. This past April was the Kid Rock Cruise & we got to tell Kid Rock that because of him we met, got engaged & are getting married. He was really surprised. Not sure if he was surprised we met because of him or surprised that I had my hand on his #### the whole time we were talking to him. LOL!

Si and I met through hot or not. He was deployed in Iraq at the time, and we both liked going through and rating people to pass the time. We started chatting on yahoo and talked pretty much every day for the last 3 months of his deployment. Our first in person meeting was his Welcome Home Ceremony when he returned from Iraq. I looked like a fish out of water trying to spot him among the 200 or so soldiers all dressed in their combat gear (kevlar helmets and saftey glasses included) out on a parade field in the dark!! Luckily I stood off to the side and he spotted me. 2 weeks later we went on a trip to the Dominican Republic with a bunch of my friends and the rest is history!!!

I met Wes through WoW as well. I joined the guild he was in when I broke up with my ex and we talked a lot, then sometime similar happened with his ex, and I talked him through it too. I was already planning on coming down to San Diego to visit a friend of mine (who is also named Stephanie lol) with my sister, and he decided to take time off and come down to have a vacation too. It took 2 days to realize just how crazy we were about each other in person (we already felt something for each other online, but in person it was even better). The rest is history

Tim and I met in Hawaii in June of '06. We were part of the same trip. Funny thing is..there were no sparks or anything...just 3 very short conversations, at the end of the week. It wasn't until we got home, and emails started, then yahoo...then calls..then visits....well you get the picture As others have said..the rest is history....

Kenny and I met in a game room on pogo. There were a bunch of people in the game/chat room, discussing hockey and Nascar. We talked briefly that evening. He was saying bye to us in the chat room and I quickly added him as a friend, that way I would know if he was online playing a game. It wasn't until a few weeks later that we crossed paths again. He came in the same game room where we met the first time. That evening there were a bunch of regulars exchanging pictures. He piped up that he wanted one of me. So I got his email and sent him one and he sent one to me. Shortly after that we added each other to yahoo, msn, facebook...A few months later I made the trip to Virginia to meet him in person. Even though we talked every day on yahoo and even slept with the cams on, I was a bundle of nerves that day. When I arrived at the airport and walked down that hallway, he was standing there with a video camera. We stayed at a motel the first night. The next day he took me to meet his mother. The day after that we left for Florida. We had a great time, went to Disney, Epcot etc....On the way back "HE" got lost in Georgia. Thank goodness for GPS. Normally it takes a short time to go through Georgia...It took us all day! The following week he was back to work so I did stuff myself. I was supposed to fly back to NS the end of that week, but ended up staying until Thanksgiving weekend (US). He came to meet my family. My daughter and grand daughter loved him. My mother was trying to convince him to move to Canada. Anyway he went back and I stayed in Canada. Not what we wanted but it had to be that way. I needed to finish some business here before we started the K1 process. That is how we met and fell in love in a nutshell :luv:

I met my B through my step dad, who met him on a online divorce support group. They became really good friends and my step dad kept telling me I had to meet his friend B. He was also telling B that he had to meet his daughter. We avoided each other like the plague for almost 3 months. When we did finally meet we hit it off and have been together ever since.

My husband and I met on the zwan board.... you remember zwan? Billy Corgans band after the smashing pumpkins... yea that band... they didn't last but we did! That was like 8 years ago... crazy.
