Haven't there been any NOA2s received in the K-3 category lately? The last one reported on VJ is July 21 :(

Anyone out there get their NOA2s but not updated the timelines yet?

Like many others, I monitor VJ every morning for any new NOA2s received, to get some hope that the queue is moving along. You guys know the feeling

Actually we had some trouble with our I-129F.. They send it back saying it was filed in the wrong place (funny thing was they sent it with the photos of two Mexican people) and we re-filed it.. so we have it pending.. But as far as I know - your CR1 goes separately too, even tho you have filed for a K3? At least thats what the attorney explained..

ps: It even says so here GUIDE too:

Note to K3 Applicants: This process also applies to K3 Visa applicants whom have had their I-130 approved PRIOR to their I-129f. In this case you may chose to persue the I-130 path as opposed the the K3. This will allow the immigrating relative to enter as a permanent resident as opposed to having to file for adjustment once here. If the I-129f is later approved and forwarded to the embassy then you can write them to request the approved I-130 be acted on and the K-3 process abandoned.

some people who filed lately than us they already got their NOA2, it is fair enough? My hubby got NOA1 last Septemeber 2009, until now nothing change and still waiting the NOA2, almost 1 year sinced got the noa1. Huh?

Anyone here who work in Immigration or USCIS that can share some exact idea? I think no one else knows to tell whats the system of processing unless they are employers from the USCIS to tell exactly whats going on. Every case is unique as they said, lol.

The problem with that is, when you send in the K-3 application, it seems to set back your I-130 processing. So your I-130, which would have been otherwise processed quickly, is delayed by some 4-6 weeks. Then USCIS processes both the I-130 and I-129f simulatenously. Then NVC closes the I-129F. So, essentially we lose 4-6 weeks for nothing. How screwed up is that? :bonk:

Did you call USCIS? You are supposed to call and inquire about your application if it isn't processed within normal time (5 months for both K-3 and I-130). What are you waiting for?

And where's your timeline? Somebody might have pointed this out sooner if you had shared your timeline...

Hello I too have been waiting I have not hear anything since I filed on 2-13-10 NOA1 2-24-10. Wow I knew it was going to take a year for the marriage Visa you should be hearing something already. Your 1 year anniverary is coming soon. That's just too long to have not heard anything. I feel I am in the same boat as you 2 are.

Thanks Zhenzhen, our 2nd wed. anniverssary is over. We got married for 2 years and 5 months now. It's so sad we're still not living together in one roof as husband and wife. K1 is too quick to be done than k3? why? K3 is legally a married couple, but I wonder why takes too long... hu! hu! hu!

Hey Ed,

You should call the USCIS. It's been more than 5 months (their normal processing time) since your NOA1. You are "officially" allowed to bug them on the phone if it goes past the 5 month period.

Don't be shy now, pick up that phone

You'd think so right? You do the due diligence, and send in all the extra paperwork for K-3, just to set yourself back by a few weeks

Maybe that's USCIS' way of gettin back at us for sending them extra forms to review
