Hi everyone!

Almost 2 weeks since USCIS received my RFE and no updates. I was wondering when is the right time to contact the Congressman to check on my case. I really wanna avoid "headaches" in the future and be prepared in case I need to contact the Congressman. In your opinion, how long should I wait before calling the Congressman?

I think contacting the congressman should be a last resort, if you are truly worried i would first consider making an infopass apointment.

My understanding is that the congressman is to be contacted when there are issues against USCIS like timescales and inapporpriate handling of a case.

In immigration land, two weeks is not a great deal of time..

Actually I am more impatient than worried :(

I see people receiving updates like 2 days after the RFE's delivery :(

I think I waited for about a month or so before any word from USCIS after they received my RFE... There should be a time frame guideline on this site somewhere in regards to that, but 2 weeks is definitely not a lot of time. Calling your congressman would, like the previous poster mentioned, be a last resort, only if the USCIS did not complete your application within the speculated time frame.

Just relax and take a deep breath! :)

Good luck!

Your twenty days will be up by then, yes? So maybe go ahead and contact the congressperson - at least call and ask what they can do/what they think about waiting, etc. It cannot hurt to be proactive.

I already sent the congressman an email, I will wait the infopass, maybe they can explain me what is going on, if not, I will actually call the congressman.
