When did you arrive in the US? It can take a couple of weeks for you to show up in the system. Not sure what a "secondary Check" is.

I don't know what a secondary check is either. That said, I waited until I had my certified marriage license (mailed to me by the county after I got married) to obtain my SSN in my married name. I went to the SSN office, brought a copy of the license, did what needed to be done, and had my SSN in hand within a week.

A secondary check means they are going to manually look for the paper record of the alien's arrival and status they received from DHS. This can takes weeks, or possibly even months, and may not be completed before the I-94 expires. It would be better to cancel the application, wait until your name shows up in their system, and then reapply.

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
