I think you are right about that. Either people are not updating their timelines or nothing is going on @ VSC.

Some people aren't. When you look at Igor's list you can see from the previous months that an average of 10% don't bother updating. Some July might not update at all because they got so fed up. Looks like July for VJ is around 80-85%. Almost similar to April 2010.

Out of interest, how will I know when the paperwork is received by/leaves the NVC?

Aug 20 2010 - NOA1 received.
Feb 08 2011 - NOA2 email received.

When you get your NOA2 hard copy in the mail, call the NVC. You need the receipt number that is on the NOA2. Don't use the automated system, talk to a real human. They will tell you what day they received the package and what day they sent it out.
