I dont mind waiting, I mean, at least I havent got a RFE yet! So I'll wait a few weeks past my 5 month mark so they can't tell me to call back in 3 weeks.

They can still tell you to call back in 3 weeks. It doesn't matter when you call after the 5 month mark.

Sounds like a typical email after getting a service request. At least you received a service request. Most people seem to get the 'call back in 30 days' response. I just put a service request yesterday. Should hear something soon.

I also called on Jan 7th and havent heard a thing. In fact when I called to follow up today, it was as if there was no record of me calling... even though I have a receipt number and everything! The agent was telling me she couldnt put in a service request when it was supposed to be already done! I'm so frustrated with this whole process! Ready to just be DONE!!!

So my Congressman inquired for me and this is the response that they got. (See Below) This is so frustrating!!! It does say that it was assigned to an officer but I am really not sure if that means anything. Wish I had better news.

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records reflect that the I-129F was received on August 11, 2010 and was recently assigned to an officer on January 21, 2011, and is currently under review.

Please look for action on this case in the next 30 days.

You can put this to use: First, call the phone boys and put in a service request. Yeah, I know, the service request is nothing but toilet paper, but this will generate a service request number. The 30 days on both things will expire on or about the same day. The service request number and the expiration of the 30 days will enable you to use the e-mail system. Tell them at that point that Congressman ***** said there would be action by now, so what would that action be? At the same time, call the Congressman's office, point out their response and ask what action they took in those 30 days as his letter said they would.
