NVC starting question

I already have my NVC case number and want to OPTIN for the email process. I am pretty sure this has to be done when the DS-3032 is sent in. Do I put "OPTIN" in the subject line or do I send it to a different email address ? Or am I wrong about how this is done ?

Any help given is muchly appreciated !!

Hi. We used the template from http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing. The wiki page is messed up at the top (for me, anyway), but scroll down until you see OPTIN. The wiki has good info, that might help you. Good luck!

This is what I did (and was taken from the wiki mentioned in the link above). I sent the following email to NVCElectronic@state.gov with the subject line of "OPTIN MTL2010XXXXXX" (using of course your own case number instead) with my completed DS-3032 attached:

Petitioner's name: My Name

Beneficiary's name: His Name

Petitioner's Date of Birth: 01/12/1959

Thanks for all of the help and advice !! I emailed everything in tonight. I found there was 2 different email addy's suggested to send in to, so I sent a copy to each one. Hopefully this was not overkill !!

Also is there a way to check the status of your case online, like how we were able to at the USCIS ?

The NVCElectronic is the right one, but hopefully by sending it to both it will still be fine. Technically, there isn't a way to check your status online but once you have access to the online payment portal, there's a trick to knowing when your case has been completed at NVC. Basically, you will use the portal to pay your AOS and IV bills, and then afterward you should sign in regularly until you get the "sign-in fail": a red box that pops up and says you can't sign in any more. That usually means your case is complete. Other than that, though, the only way to check the status is by calling in and using the automated voice system or speaking directly to one of their operators.
