Hello Everyone Thank you so much.. I've been sweating ever since I've received a rejection. I know in the grand scheme of things more is to come..

Since I received an official NoA1 rejection.. Now that I am filling out my forms.. (Since the month has passed, A lot of changes employment wise have occurred). I realize when the I-130 asks if I Ever filed a petition for this alien.. I do not know if I qualify to answer Yes. Since the petition never received acceptance.. Does this mean I can put no?

Event Date

Service Center : California Service Center

Consulate : Switzerland

Marriage (if applicable): 2009-07-28

I-130 Sent : 2010-08-07

I-130 NOA1 : 2010-08-10

If you have ever submitted an application for your family member and USCIS sent you a rejection letter and it has a case number assigned to it, the answer would be yes you need to state that you have filed a petition for that person before.

Because during the background check they will find out that you were rejected before and if you dont put that you filed, they will think your trying to be dishonest.

I am trying to avoid asking these stupid questions through calling friends, searching the past posts, and the guides..

So here's another one! On that same question is place and date of filing.. Would it be...

Chicago, IL (where I sent the petition), Notice date (provided by I-797C), and Rejection because application/petition has not been fully completed.

Would this be satisfactory for the filing?

Once you make a mistake.. The world gets awfully unfriendly :(

You still filed for her, even if the petition wasn't approved. The question doesn't ask if you received an approval, just if you petitioned. Answer yes for that question and I see you have listed CSC as your processing center, I'd list that as the location.

Good luck
