I'm trying to figure out how to make a round braided challah for rosh hashanah and all I have to say about the techniques I'm finding is :blink:

Hey guys I'm at work . Never thought I'd be happy to say that

I feel like a restaurant employee. I've been cooking/packing lunches snacks and breakfast from the time I get home until I go to bed.

Then there's Anna who goes "mmmmmm" every time she sees us eating till I feed her

Then the classic "I want an egg mcsandwich for breakfast" this morning.

I hope everyone is doing better than me

Well, not quite. I was sleeping and the doctor's office calls. They want me to go to this far away hospital for surgery next week.....and I do not have a ride! Something about litho/cysto/lazer ?????

Morning Hearts

I woke up early because I'm so sore from yesterday. We started switching all the upstairs bedrooms around. We got 3 rooms moved. Now we have to do the heaviest part and that's switching the office furniture to another room and then set up dh's office into the old office. Our new room is bigger but that's because it doesn't have a full closet. It's more like a coat closet. So we're going to use the closet in dh's office. Also this is the second week of my work outs on the elliptical machine at home and I think I over did it last night with moving things and then doing my work out. The soreness factor required a Valium so my muscles could relax. Sigh

I still haven't heard back from the government job yet. They could hire between the 7th and the 21st and I would hear something either way because I was in the top five candidates. Applying for a government job having to jump through all their hoops and then sweat it out waiting to hear if you got the job is nerve racking.

Sounds like my problem of not being able to figure out how to braid bread is minimal compared to what you guys have going on.

Nagi - you don't have anyone to take you? does your husband drive?

O - Take it easy on the workout! Until you're really used to it I would even suggest doing less or doing it every other day for the first week or so to get your body used to it. Be careful! Starting too fast and getting injured will just set you back

Amby, he drives but he will be at a job way out. I found a lady friend who will take me, but it has to be next Wednesday and not Monday like the doctor wants.

Thanks for the tips Amber. This is the second week of doing my workout since my Uncle brought the elliptical machine home. I love it! It helps to exercise when it's too hot outside and it will help when it starts to get to cold. It's like going on walks but easy on my joints and no blisters on my feet.

I didn't know you were a government employee Susita. With all the bureaucracy I went through to apply for the job I got a call this morning 30 minutes after I posted in this thread that they had selected another candidate. I thanked them for letting me know. I didn't feel too upset but I'm not happy about it either. I've been looking for work for 9-10 months and have applied for well over 200 jobs now and no one is hiring me. It makes me feel like a failure and like my college degree means nothing. Everyone around the house has the news now and we're all kind of sitting here wondering what next then? The day matches the mood here, gray, gloomy and rainy.

Suz - I figured out how to make a round braid. I think I messed myself up because I kept stretching the dough and ended up walking in circles around the island
