Question about oath and rescheduling

I'm from New York City and I have a naturalization interview tomorrow (8/05/10). Assuming I get granted immediately what are the odds that I could get same day oath as well? The reason I'm asking this is because I have to move in to college in Michigan on 9/02 and I really want to get it done soon. If not I think I might have to reschedule the oath until May or maybe during my short breaks in the between Christmas and New Year's. Any approximations guys, especially from those who've had their interview in NYC?

dude ur just 24hrs away from ur oath ceremony and to become US citizen and the ceremony won't take much time just max 2hrs. Why putting everything in vain-better to finish ur oath ceremony .

Well you won't be telling the USCIS when you will want them to reschedual it. They will tell you when they decide (however long it will be) when it will be reschedualed to. Which could be right when you're in school to hell knows when. People have been known to wait a very long time when they attempted to reschedual, some have been totally lost back into the USCIS system. They always say unless it's a matter of life or death (of you or someone else) that there is no other reason to reschedual the Oath...

A few things to keep in mind, you are NOT a US citizen until oath, if your reschedule it and move to MI, then you need to apply Change of Address form to maintain what they request from you as an LPR. The odds could be in your favor and get the oath same day (today) but I would really recommend you complete the interview and then just fly back or drive back for your oath. If you reschedule and both the interview and oath take place on two different days, then you need to drive/fly back twice...

yeah I'm granted.. but the lady said it might around a month until i get the letter/meeting.. hopefully it's sooner. Do you still think i should apply for a change of address if that's only my campus address and isn't my "permanent address?"
