Also read pages 115 and 116 of the ruling. The judge specifically says that Civil Unions and Marriages are the exact same thing, EXCEPT for what they are called...

He goes into this BS commentary about how "socially" they are recognized.

Again, who the hell cares if the benefits are the exact same?

He even says that opposite-sex couples cannot participate in the civil unions. So bam, it's fair. Look at that.

Same benefits

Both are excluded from the other.

No harm. No foul.

The only people are harmed, are ones who have PERSONAL PROBLEMS of wanting to tell everyone and their pet hamster that they are married. Guess what? Society doesn't care who your sleeping with, who you're in a relationship with, etc.

So they get awarded a word because a few of them feel inferior, eventhough the law in California says they are not? Get over yourselves.
