Its kinda odd that no K1s reported an interview date within the 1st 3 weeks of sept...everyone was schedualed at the end...

I've been noticing for the last while that most of the interviews for K-1 and CR-1/ IR-1 are more toward the end of the month (or at least middle to end). There's the the occasional exception, but that's the general tendency. I have absoultely no idea why.

Come to think of it, you're right. I really follow CR1 stuff more closely than K1 (understandably), and prob shouldn't have commented here. Anyway, good luck everyone. There's no doubt that anyone dealing with Montreal needs it...

One can only hope that "summer holidays" end soon for real...because surely that's at least PART of the problem.

Hey guys, sorry to pop in, it's really none of my business, but how many of you got an interview date for September so far? (K1s)?

I believe it's only 2 or 3 couples at this point..........

They are "a coming" though.

Looks like 6 couples according to the timelines here.

In other news, I finally got a response this morning to an email I sent MTL over 2 months ago! Canada Post never showed Andrew's p3 as delivered, so I emailed them to confirm that they received it, and threw in a little question about when we can expect an interview letter. MTL forwarded it to the Dept of State, because their response comes from them, not from MTL. Here's what they said, for anyone curious:

Dear Ms. XXXXXXX:

This is in response to your email to the U.S. Consulate in Montreal, Canada concerning the

nonimmigrant visa application of your fiancé, Andrew XXXXXXXXXX. Your email was

forwarded to the Visa Office, Public Inquiries Division in Washington, DC for our response.

Our review of Department records confirmed that the Consulate has received your documents

and Mr. XXXXXXXXX’s case is currently pending an interview being scheduled. The U.S.

Consulate General in Montreal is facing a backlog of immigrant visa cases which affects their

ability to schedule immigrant visa cases. This backlog was caused by an unforeseen and

unpreventable staffing shortage. The Consulate is making every effort to reduce the backlog.

For future inquiries you may contact our office directly and a Visa Specialist will be happy to

assist you. You may reach us at 202-663-1225 Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

EST.

enter the United States shall be considered confidential under Section 222(f) of the Immigration

and Nationality Act (INA) [8 U.S.C. Section 1202]. Access to and use of such information must

be solely for the formulation, amendment, administration, or enforcement of the immigration,

guidance. If you have received such information in error, do not review, retransmit, disclose,

disseminate, use, or take any action in reliance upon this information, and contact the sender as

soon as possible.

My fiance got the same EXACT document from them when he inquired about an interview.

We got it last week. I really do think we'll get something soon, at the very latest October.

For me I;m anxiously awaiting knowing the date but at the same time if I do get it too soon then I will have a hard time planning the wedding and i will not get a bridal shower :( As if there is shower it will be US thankgiving which is late Nov. and well if i get one in Oct. then there's only a couple of weeks to go and put deposits and meet with people etc. and I wont be able to visit US after the interview till I cross at New Years... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH okay I'm good now...for now lol
