As I understand it, not even improbable, impossible is accurate in this context. There is matter that is not understood, there may be forces that we are not yet aware of but none of these translates as some benevolent force that can intercede on an individual human's behalf on day to day matters. That's just silly.

What about this theory has you sold? Why do you favor this over intelligent design?

The cause of the big bang is not particularly relevant in understanding life, the universe and everything. Scientific theories enhance our understanding of the world around us and these theories allow us all to benefit from modern technologies. Dismiss them and your computer might just go phut and you'll find yourself standing in a not very well appointed cave.
