I had placed a call on the 6th of January to file a service call but could not. They are asking for 21 more days in the normal processing times. I did however have to make an adjustment to the NOA-1 form that was sent to me. They had my birthday wrong on the form.

This didn't worry me too much because I sent them all the documents they would need to get it right... such as birth cert, passport and other forms. I asked the representative to correct them.

She told me on the phone that I would be mailed a corrected NOA-1 but the dates would not change.

Soooo... I check the mail today and I see a letter from the USCIS. I get all kinds of excited.

I open it up and it is in fact this new NOA-1. With a priority date of 2010-08-03 (Aug 3, 2010).

I will give them to the end of the week. Then I will call and work my way to tier 2.

Anybody fortunate enough to be approved today? If so... congratulations!

So how much longer should I wait for our NOA2 hardcopy to arrive? It was mailed on the 4th (of January) and it's now the 20th! Granted it's being sent from California to Ireland...but still, the last mail we received here from the USCIS (presumably from Texas) only took a little over a week. I'm getting concerned because I've heard a replacement costs 300+ dollars and we will be needing it for the interview.

Also, I swear I remember reading that if you actually never received your NOA2 (as opposed to receiving it and losing it), there is a form you can fill out to request a new one free of charge. That's just me going off of my memory, hopefully someone can come in here and tell you that's actually true!

We have the same NOA date. I have not called them yet, as i am giving them a few days before i initiate any kind of action to find out where my case is. It appears as though a few August filers have been getting approvals 2 days after their 5 month mark. I didn't know that they were available for calls on saturdays? If so, i will give them a call on saturday as well if i don't hear anything by then. Hope we both get good news before then.

Our petition was approved today! I hope you receive the approval today as well. I don't know if the phone call helped but it didn't seem to hurt.

...updating timeline now.

That's wonderful, congratulations! It's great because it gives me hope that my petition could be approved any day now since we had the same NOA1 date. I'm thinking that maybe your phone call did help. I went ahead and called today this number (1-800-375-5283) and i got a customer service rep who basically did nothing but read from a script. He did however tell me to call back in a week or so, and if i don't hear anything by then, they will put in a service request for me and let the center know to take some kind of action on my case.

Congrats on the approvals. I'm becoming more and more optimistic with the few approvals that are starting to pop up before the 5 month mark. I know it's still a long shot for us, even with exactly one month until we reach our 5 month mark, but it gives us hope.

Congratulations to those who've finally received theirs! :D

We're at 5 months, 2 weeks and counting. :(

I still don't understand why they would tell me they need another 21 days added to the normal processing time though. It's rather depressing.

Really encouraging to suddenly see all those approvals for late August NOA1s! Nothing new here but fingers are crossed we'll hear something in the next couple of days...

Around November, 2009: decided to meet in person

February, 2010: met in Thailand (first time)

May, 2010: met in Taiwan (second meeting)

August, 2010: got engaged

NOA1: August 26, 2010

November-December, 2010: met again in Taiwan (third meeting)

NOA2: 1/26/2011!

Thanks Coconuts. I hope you're right! I'll have someone in the States give them a call for me on Monday to see what's going on.
