What is the point in sending packages to Chicago??? Is it not better to send your package straight to the service center??? Sorry but I am just starting this process and have not found a clear answer, I live in New York and I am starting the CR1/IR1 visa process, I should send my my I-130 and complete package to Chicago and not Vermont??? Or just the I-130 to Chicago???? Not an idiot just confused, please help!!!!!

Your entire I-130 package is sent to Chicago Lockbox and they will re-direct it to the appropriate SC.

Send the complete package to the address as is indicated by the USCIS... it is the only way to get your petition/application accepted. If you send it anywhere else it will be likely be rejected and returned to you. If you want to succeed, you need to follow the directions.

I live in NYC and i sent it as according to the instructions...

If you are the petitioner and you reside in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, West Virginia, or District of Columbia and you are filing only Form I-130, mail the petition to the USCIS Lockbox Facility. The address is as follows:
