Slim, the premise was gun violence, so it is a given. Those are factors that influence the disparity in violent crime rates in Vermont versus Chicago. You don't really seem to understand the premise behind the 2nd amendment.

For inside the house, yes, I agree. 12 ga. Something larger than number 4 birdshot, not larger than number 4 buckshot. The pellet count just drops way off when you get to the larger buckshot and it isn't needed for inside the house. I don't plan on having to penetrate auto bodies or windshields with the thing. Sheetrock and interior doors are no barrier.

You are under the delusion that I don't own guns. I however, only have guns for hunting.

Guns are readily available anywhere in the country. What they are used for and how varies according to the factors I stated before. Abject poverty will do that to you. You'll find that violent crimes have more to do with poverty than race though.

That's OK, Rob. Thanks for the offer. I am sure Slim is pleased with the answer also, it is the one I usually seek and it is so easy to get agreement on it, even from liberals. We'll just have to agree that it isn't guns and let it go at that.
