Hi Everyone, I know my name is new to this site and forum but, I was also an August 2010 filer who went through the same process as most of you have and some still ongoing. Please don't laugh at me when I say that I was somewhat paranoid of joining any forum pre interview with USCIS. I have trolled this forums from mid August when my package was mailed and now that I am complete with the Conditional Permanent Resident process, I think it's my duty to thank each and everyone of you for posting your experiences as I was too chicken to do so. Your experiences were extremely helpful in preparing my husband and I for our interview. It also gave me some peace of mind knowing there are many others out there that was in the same boat as me. So on behalf of my husband and I, a great BIG THANK YOU to all of you wonderful people on here. I will post my timeline off memory, which I am usually good with. Also, congratulations to all who have made it through the process and goodluck to the others that are patiently waiting. You guys will be fine, just be honest about everything and all will go well for you. So here goes my timeline for New York City.

Note: My husband is the USC Petitioner, I am the beneficiary.

Started dating April 2009,

Engaged March 2010,

Married July, 1st 2010.

Mailed AOS Package to Chicago Lockbox 08/14,

Delivered 08/19,

Rec'vd confirmation text from USCIS 08/25,

Hard NOA arrived in mail 08/27.

Biometrics Notice rec'vd 08/30 scheduled for 09/17.

Completed Bio on 09/17 then WAIT, WAIT, and more WAIT..

Interview app letter rec'vd 10/29 to appear on 12/02, 10AM at the new office in Holtsville, NY.

Day Of the Interview 12/02: Arrived 20 minutes early, submitted appointment letter and waited to be called. Around 11:40-11:45, we were called in by a really nice female officer, I would say in her 50's. Very warm & pleasant. She swore us in and made us feel completely comfortable. The only way I could possibly describe our interview experience is that it was more like a conversation with a friend rather than an interrogation. She basically asked us to just verify whether our info she was saying to us was correct (ie. name, address, Date of Birth etc.) She even apologized for not organizing my file before she called us in. The entire time we were just talking. After she arranged our file she then said "well now it's your turn to prove to me that you are in a bonafide marriage." Offcourse that was no problem for us since we were very well organized and she even complimented us on how put together we were. We gave her copies of our bank & credit card statements, health & dental insurance, phone bills, apartment lease agreement, sworn affidavits from friends and family, and 3 photo albums (Dating & Regular Life together, Engagement, Wedding.) She was quite intrigued by our engagement photos since we did a traditional Hindu engagement ceremony with all of our family members and friends. She looked through most of them and then told us to select one photo that we would like her to keep in our file. After that, she took her stamp and stamped a giant "APPROVED" in red ink at the top of the application. We were so EXCITED with tears of HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY JOY!!!! My husband grabbed my hand and kissed me even with tears running down my face. I apologized to her for crying and she was totally ok with it, since it was tears of joy. She then told me that she approved our case and she placed the I-551 stamp in my passport which is valid for 1 year, then told us my green card should arrive in 3-4 weeks. She walked us out and on the way out stopped in another office and placed the US seal on the stamp. Overall, I would say we had a terrfic interview and our officer was very, very polite and friendly with us. I think our experience was as best as it could have ever gotten in maybe fairytale, except this was real.

Yesterday, 12/20 - Went home to an an evnelope waiting for me delivered by the USPS, inside... My Green Card arrived.

Today, 12/21 - 11 Years since I have been in the US of A. My home sweet home. I came here as a child and did everything I was told to do being raised by my single mother (due to my father's death when I was 13). You just have to believe GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!!! Never give up. Good things, come to those to wait. Just be patient. Once again, thank you all, and I do hope my very longggg post will be able to help some of you folks that are still inthe process.

Regards,

Mr. & Mrs.S

Congrats and what a lovely interview experience! My hubby (the USC) gets all irritated at the thought of being interviewed but tells me I'm cute every time I stop him from throwing out anything that arrives in the mail with both our names. lol

I have trolled this forums from mid August

I know you're new to posting and I don't want to frighten you off, but thought you'd like to know that trolling a forum isn't a good thing. It's when people use an anonymous account to post mean or provocative posts.

I think you meant 'trawling' which is what fishermen do with boats and nets - or people do with information and the internet :)

Keep on posting - happy stories are as valuable as informative posts!

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

Took about 20 minutes, went find but were asked a lot of questions and he doubly checked names etc against other documents. All-in-all though pretty straightforward once you go in prepared and my heart jumped when I saw him stamp "Approved".

Should have my Green Card within a week and no more USCIS for 21 months!

Please you can tell me what kind of question did they do to you?

Please you can tell me what kind of question did they do to you?

When/where we met. When we've travelled together. Our wedding date. Who was there. Where I've lived. What I do professionally. What my wife does professionally. And many questions that checked our answers matched what were on the forms in front of him. Showed pictures, boarding passes, letters, bills etc. to prove we are together.

Nothing really that was difficult if you are in a valid relationship. You just need to be prepared and especially have your documents organized in a manner that allows you to quickly reference any piece of evidence that confirms the information you are giving.

Received Green Card. They also give you a little silver-lined "jacket" to keep the card in. This prevents the risk of RFID data within the Green Card being stolen wirelessly.

And, yes, the card is at least somewhat green.
