I got a weird email from USCIS this morning about my EAD case being updated and saying that they approved it. then I checked USCIS website and I saw that the process is going backwards (no more card production as it was before, but post decision activity). same for AP. both cases were touched today.

needless to say that I've had AP for almost 2 months and the EAD card for almost a month. anyone has an idea?

Received my EAD on the Wednesday :-)....Applying for SS# and ID on Monday!

Congratulations!

i think you should wait for your green card to apply ssn and ID. Because if you apply for social security card with your ead then the social security card will again have this " VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION". But if you go to social security office with your green card, they will give you an unrestricted ss card.. and also for the id, since the ead card is only valid for 1 year, your id will also be for 1 year.. I see that your green card is approved so just wait until you get your green card, then apply for both of these..

Thanks! My Green Card hasn't been approved yet :-( still waiting on the interview letter. I think applying for the SS# now will make it easier to add my name to our bills and stuff so i wouldn't mind having to change it in a year or when the Green Card gets approved.

yes you should go to social security office to get that part erased when you get your green card.. i think there isn't any big hurry to go and do that since you already find a job and still working.. when i got my ead card, i thought it was enough to erase "this valid for work only.." part just showing the ead.. but no i was wrong :) now i have to go there again! :bonk:
