Well, if biometrics is between you getting the EAD then they'll make sure you get that. Your objective is EAD, which is what you should emphasis on when speaking to the Congressman personnel. I would

Received fancy EAD card and AP papers in the mail today. EAD card came in an envelope that looked like it was from a credit card company, no USCIS label or anything, so don't throw away supposed junk

Received my interview letter today!, and still nothing new from the uscis website, but i had already heard that the website was unreliable for updates.

June 10-2010 Got Married

August 23-2010 Sent off AOS package

August 29-2010 Package delivered signed by R.Mercado(delivered on a Sunday, that was weird)

Sept 10-2010 NOA1 Received

Sept 14-2010 Received Biometrics letter

Sept 29-2010 Biometrics appointment

Sept 24-2010 Successful biometrics walk-in

Oct 13-2010 Gave birth to our lil baby girl!

Oct 18-2010 Received interview letter

Interview this morning in SF. Took 20ish minutes, just needed to present my passport (my wife her ID), nothing else was asked for. Ran through the I485 yes/no questions, asked for proof of my arrest (12 years ago - childish mistake), got an approval notice at the end.

Interestingly, passport was not stamped and he did not ask to collect my AP or EAD docs. Nor did he ask to see them.

Officer was SUPER friendly - couldn't have gone any smoother.

2003-2010, working on E2/H1B in CA

2010-07-26 wedding in Sacramento, CA (in US for several years on E2/H1B visas)

2010-08-05 re-entered US @ LAX

2010-08-06 UPS'd concurrent I130/I485 (+I131/I765)

2010-08-11 signed for by "CHIBA"

2010-08-24 checks cashed

2010-08-24 received 8 emails from USCIS - forwarded to NBC for processing

2010-08-27 NOA1 hard copies (x4) arrived

2010-09-02 Biometrics appt letter arrives (scheduled for 2009-09-24)

2010-09-03 Walk-in biometrics in San Francisco (arrived 12:20pm, out at 1pm, super friendly)

2008-11-01 - Met for the first time in Italy

2009-06-10 - Liz moved in

2009-10-13 - We found out we were pregnant :)

2009-12-21 - Liz went back to USA

[K1 visa]

2010-01-14 - Sent I-129F

2010-05-26 - Interview and visa in Passport

2010-05-29 - Entered USA

2010-06-30 - Leonardo came into our lives :D

2010-07-11 - Got married

2010-07-14 - Got SSN

[AOS - EAD]

2010-07-31 - Sent I-485 and I-765

2010-08-09 - Files Received

2010-10-01 - Bio. appt.

2010-10-01 - EAD approved and sent in production

Im so sorry to hear that.... But what about doing some Charity work until the EAD arrives? Thats what I am doing and I know lots of Animal Shelters or other Charitys are always looking for help! This would at least take some of your boredomness away!!!

Well I DID TRY, AND THEY SAID NO, CAUSE WITH A TOURIST VISA YOU CANT EVEN DO VOLUNTEER........YES THEY SAID THAT!!!!! EVEN IN HOSPITAL!!!!

BUT I HAVE A GOOD NEW.....TODAY AROUND 9.00 PM I CHECKED AND THEY ALREADY ORDERED MY CARD FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, YIPPIIII!!!!

Aug 24,2010 : AOS package received by USCIS

Aug 31,2010 : received text confirmation

Sept 4,2010 : received hard copy of NOA1 for AOS,EAD,AP

Sept 7,2010 : received biometrics letter. Scheduled for september 16.

Sept 16,2010 :Biometrics, successful

Sept 20,2010 : Touched

Oct 18, 2010: Card Production for EAD.

Since L's EAD should be approved soon (and if not, we've already talked w/ my Congressman about an expedite), he's started to look for some jobs yesterday, and already has a few interviews lined up for next week! I'm hopeful he'll get one of them, him staying home is driving us BOTH crazy!

No progress on the EAD or AP yet.

Out curiousity, did anyone here sign up for e-notifications on the USCIS site? Not just the GS1145 form, but the other one? I'm just curious how many transfer notices others have gotten. So far, we've gotten 3, which makes me wonder if his went to CA, back to IA, and back to CA...

just 3 weeks left to the interview but still no ead and ap! i don't understand what is the point to applying for ead and ap then! i mean they will be useless once i get my green card, so i won't be surprised if i receive my ead card a week before my interview!!! offfffffffff i want my ead card and start working!!!!

My EAD arrived the day of my interview!!

11 days between my first email and receiving the card...

biometrics finally done.

That was a HUGE mental hurdle for me - once the biometrics was out the way, I was calm :)
