I was just thinking about you. You, me and AmyKathleen are the 3 original August 2010 Filers. Her husband was approved Tuesday, my wife & I have our interview this coming Friday, but you are still waiting for your interview letter. I know New York is probably backed up, but still, it's surprising that you don't have an interview appointment by now. Maybe you should pay a visit to your Congressman's office. Afterall, election day is fast approaching, so maybe they will do something for you. Anyway, I hope you get it soon. :) You've waited long enough. :clock:

You are right, I should pay a visit to the Congressman's office. I have a 1.5 week long trip in December and I am really worried that they will schedule and interview during that.

I did apply with I-130 so may be thats what might be the differentiator but like you said, I should have the interview letter by now or at least an RFE, I have checked various other resources including VJ where people from NYC have already gotten their interview letters(except member poopie1010) and they filed I-130 so this is scaring me a little.

Last I spoke to the ISO on the phone (2 weeks), they said the case has not been transferred to the local field office.

I agree! There are some July filers too who are having the same problem, some don't even have a biometrics letter.

Well, since you have not received RFE, I think you should be getting your EAD/AP approval emails soon.

I do however understand your feeling, I am desperately waiting for the interview letter!!!! :(

I have a question: I have my bio appointment next wednesday and I sent my package almost 2 months ago. Since then, my AOS was touched only once on Sept. 11 and then no more. I received a letter from USCIS stating that my AOS is frozen until I do biometrics. I didn't get any RFEs. So here's my question: do you guys think I should consider my case safe from RFEs, or could I still get one?

They are not going to fully process your case until you have the biometrics, so there is always a chance for one, even after your interview. Still, there must not have been any horribly obvious mistakes or they would have probably sent one by now.

Hi guys! :)

M+M those other people from NY when did they file their aos? You're the only one I know here who's filing concurrently.

I just checked the uscis site coz I was wondering why other people got their interview letter already and that's simply because their field office are current in processing 485 forms (los angeles, cleveland, chicago, vegas). The io I talked to before said that its up to our field office to sched our interview :( too bad they're so slow)

Well I really hope we get our letters soon. They're prolonging our agony...

Goodluck with the congressman thing, update me. I hope it works out. :)

You are probably right. I went to Trackitt website and applied filters for concurrent NYC filters (I have the file if anyone interested), there are 3 August concurrent filers. If the trend of past year continues, I should have the interview appointment before the first week of December and I really hope that becomes true.

The other thing I dont know if the case has been transferred to field office or not. Thats another important factor because based on Trackitt the 3 cases from August 2010 have interview scheduled in the end of October, so apparently NYC office was not that busy for those 3 cases. So I dont know where the hold up is

Hi all, new here, so thanks in advance for the help. :)

We too are still waiting on biometrics ... does RFE affect this? We filed back in August (see timeline), and finally this past week got a RFE for the AP only. (We filed with a lawyer, who apparently only sent two photos, with the 485 only. I know it's an honest mistake but I'm kind of annoyed we paid somebody to take care of this for us and it's taking 2 months to find out it wasn't all done correctly.) So we have to send 2 more passport photos. No update on the 485, not even in the system online (when we called they just told us it was being 'processed' and that's why it wasn't online yet). I'm pretty sure everything is fine with that though, we went over it with a finetooth comb.

Anyway, what's the next step? Send the photos (which will be done Monday to the expedited address listed), and then wait? Write our congressman? Ask USCIS for a service request? We really need to get things rolling if at all possible because open enrollment for insurance at work is in November and I cannot include my husband if he does not have a social, not to mention the financial burden of him not being able to work here is really taking its toll.

Thanks. :)

Oh you can check it on their website... you'll notice that i-485 is still dated march 2010 and that was as of july 2010. There's like a 4-month gap, so if our notice date is August we'll get our interview letter late this month or early November and get interviewed around December... Well, that's just my guess it could be earlier (i hope so). :)

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do

I think that these timelines are either NOT applicable to us or NOT accurate. If they are applicable, they certainly are not accurate for cities other than NYC. Here is why:

1) AmyKathleen2005 applied from Cleveland, USCIS website shows 4 Months processing time (Took amykathleen a little over 2 months)

2) Bruin85 applied from Los Angeles, USCIS website shows 4 Months Processing time (same, took Bruin85 less than 3 months.

yep, i know what you mean but they also said this and im quoting the uscis website

"If the office is processing a particular type of application in less time than our processing goal, you will see the processing times expressed in months (for example, if the office is processing naturalization applications in less than our 5 month goal, the processing time will state “Five Months”). However, if that office is taking longer than our processing goal to handle the form type in question, you will see the filing date (e.g., “April 10, 2003”) of the last case we processed on the date the website chart was last updated. The charts are updated on or about the 15th day of each month.

IMPORTANT: If your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office "

so thats why they got their letters right away, their office is within their usual goal of 4 months.
