Approved pending security checks. Not quite sure what that means. He said our case seemed straightforward and that we should probably get a letter in 2-3 weeks.

I'm glad you weren't turned down for having too much evidence. :D Congratulations! Now you can get on with your life. (for 2 years anyway) B-) 10 days until our interview. I can't wait to get it over with.

Let's see. They asked:

1. Where I was born.

2. Then asked about our civil ceremony in Cleveland (when in fact we had a religious ceremony in Akron, so I corrected the IO)

3. Asked about how we communicated when we were not together during the K-1 processing

4.Looked through our wedding pics and asked who people were

5. Asked about our travels together while I was in England before we applied for K-1

6. Wanted evidence of relationship, I showed him our joint account, POD for my account, my life insurance with my husband as beneficiary, credit cards, debit cards, matching licenses

He had a whole file of stuff from our K-1 and AOS submissions. Quoted my statements from my note on how we met which was sent with the original K-1 application. He did not ask for the birth certificate for my husband who is the immigrant, he had ours already from when we sent copies in the AOS packet.

The request to the local Congress Representative's office proved fruitful. They forwarded me an email response from an Immigration Services Analyst from the Congressional Unit at the National Benefits Center, USCIS.

AOS is "interview ready" and has been "placed into a queue to await a request from District Office". No ETA given for the interview notice ("it will depend on the backlog at the District Office").

EAD approved today and will receive card in 2-3 weeks.

AP approved today and will receive card in 10-14 days.

Very pleased.

well i have a question to you guys:

we did not have a big wedding ceremony here, we just had a small civil ceremony (with two friends of my husband).. but we did have a big wedding celebration (not official wedding of course, just celebration) in turkey, and my husband's parents also came to turkey for this celebration. well this was 1,5 months before my k1 interview, and i did not mention anything about this celebration in my interview because i was afraid maybe the officer might misunderstand this celebration and think like we had an official wedding .. so should i take my wedding celebration pictures to my aos interview, does it cause any misunderstanding for the IO? if you don't suggest that, i have only one picture from my civil ceremony here, and we also had a reception last month in my father in law's house, and i have a lot of pictures from that one too.. so what should i do? any suggestions?

I am sending you 22 "good luck" wishes, try again in the morning around 11, then again after lunch -people tends to be more laid back and communicative after they stop thinking about food, going right before lunch will help you if they feel that they need to "kill time" before lunch... I am a september filer and did a walk in today with not even my appointment letter in hand - i was nice and the "guard" asked me for everything i had, for a form of id and she asked me to sit and wait while she asked the immigration officer about my case ( i went there just to ask if they had anything about my appointment in the system), well, she came back and told me that i was scheduled for the 27 and that if it was up to me to wait or "do it right now"... She didnt have to say it twice .... :). I hope everybody's case to go smooth and right!! Keep trying a walk in!!

maybe Charlotte is different, I've read already of other VJ members that were bounced here in Chula Vista. It's really ok, I will just wait until the date of my appointment because the office is about half an hour away from my house so I don't feel like wasting another hour to go there, be rejected and come back. Yesterday it was the perfect time to do it, because the office was still open but nobody was there, and they were really doing nothing but waiting for 4 o'clock to come in order to lock the door. if they didn't let me do it yesterday, I doubt that I will have a chance to do it at other times when they might have other people in line.

thank you for your good luck wishes though :)

I totally agree with you, and additionally I want the EAD soon to get a driver's license before I start working. I can try again tomorrow morning, hopefully there will be a different janitor.
