Ok so finally received my Biometrics letter and I wanted to try and do a walk in if possible tomorrow due to today being Columbus day in the US but wanted to ask others who successfully did a walk in what they said in order to be able to have it done before the set time?? Any suggestions as I am a little worried about what I should say?

Nothing - just try a walk-in... if they are not busy at the moment, you would be lucky, of course depending upon your ASC. Try Wednesday, as you have a brighter chance. Best of luck.

I did an early walk-in and just said I was unable to make it on the scheduled day. Just be nice and ask if there's any way you could have it done sooner. Also, the lady who assisted us at our USC mentioned that everybody arrives on the hour for their appointments. So you have a better shot if you arrive at 15 or 20 minutes before or after the hour. Good luck!

Oh you can check it on their website... you'll notice that i-485 is still dated march 2010 and that was as of july 2010. There's like a 4-month gap, so if our notice date is August we'll get our interview letter late this month or early November and get interviewed around December... Well, that's just my guess it could be earlier (i hope so). :)

Hi everyone,

I filed AOS on Aug27th. Got the receipt notice on Sept 2nd. Still no biometrics appt letter, so I placed a service request last Monday.

I have a few questions.

1- Do you guys think I shouldn't wait until the service request and just schedule an infopass?

2- Is my case still being processed ( I-485, 864. 765, 130) while I'm waiting for the biometrics.

3- Why do some of you to walk in biometrics instead of going on the date on the notice? Does it make a difference.

4- How can I check on my case status? I have MSC numbers on the receipt notice for I485, 130 and 765 but nothing is ever updated on the uscis case check website.

5- What does "touched" mean in your timelines? How do you know your case is being transferred to another place?

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Apparently San Diego is backed up.

If you have a job offer already, go to your Congressman's office and request to expedite your EAD.

even if you don't have it, still go there and see if they can look into things.

until you have your biometrics, everything is put on hold (maybe just AP will go on, since it does not require biometrics).

the only way to check your case status updates is on the uscis website.

you see your case is touched when on the uscis website you see a different date under "last update".
