I am actually travelling during the first week of November and then for 2 weeks in December so hoping that they dont schedule interview during those days. More concerned about the travel in December as its our Honeymoon and have significant financial committment for that trip.

PS: Couldn't resist calling again to get a better response :bonk: This time a very knowledgeable and patient gentlemen explained said that my AP has also been approved (Website does NOT indicate this) on the same day my EAD was approved and since its all going so well without any RFE, he expects to have the letter soon.

We sail in the same boat - the positives being the EADs that we have received! (Or, will shortly do)

as far as I understood, calling is pretty useless. all they could tell me was to wait other 30 days. I asked for a level 2 customer service representative but they didn't let me talk to him. not that I was expecting anything incredibly efficient from level 2, but still.

good luck to you too.

Ok I received an email this morning that my case was now transferred to the California service center. At least that is one positive.

Does this mean that possibly there is no interview?

I also just logged on after posting this to check my case status online to see the updates/touches but only the I485 has been touched, the AP and EAD don't have any touches since the last time?

Yes, no interview. Congrats!

Yes, no interview. Congrats!

Actually not necessarily. There have been numerous people who for whatever reason got transferred to CSC and then right back to their home office for an interview. It is unlikely but possible.

AFAIK, the EAD and AP aren't transferred with the AOS. We only got notice of the AOS transferring (not the EAD and AP), and the EAD and AP haven't been touched in a few weeks. They always touch them prior to sending them out and right after they're received, which is why we had a touch right before the transfer notice, and a bunch of touches after :)

By the statistics here on VJ (AOS stats, EAD stats, AP stats):

  • AP averages an approval between 52 and 56 days after NOA, and presently ('last three months') averaging 55 days.
  • EAD averages an approval between between 28 and 35 days after biometrics, and presently averaging 29 days.
  • AOS who are transferred presently get a decision between 45-60 days after transfer. (This was manually compiled by Justine+David here)
  • AOS who are not transferred have an average interview date 71-108 days after biometrics, and are presently averaging around 80 days.
  • Overall AOS has a decision issued between 72 - 115 days after biometrics, and are presently averaging around 80 days.

After months, I got my driver's license permit (to be eligible to give a driver's license test behind-the-wheels). The written test is pretty easy, and I am glad not to flunk it! :) Now to practice a couple of days, and give the final test.

I've been pretty tied up over the last week with "wedding" (a.k.a "public ceremony") work, but I'm going to call as soon as our guests from CZ head home. Hopefully, they can give us some sort of info...

I cheated, and called today, before the guests leave.

I have to say, I'm very impressed with how friendly and professional the CSRs at USCIS seem to be. They may not be terribly HELPFUL, but that's more a function of the information they have than anything else. They always seem to try, anyway.

Talked to 2nd tier support again today, and they told me that there's nothing in the record on the case to indicate any problems. Then, he offered to submit a service request for our biometrics, put me on hold, then came back on to tell me that the system wouldn't let him submit the request, which SHOULD mean that our letter is on its way. Let's hope that's the case...

He also encouraged me to call back at least once a week to check on things, which is kind of refreshing, since I'd expect them to try to talk me out of calling so often, you know?
