I just called USCIS now (or better, I let my wife call because I can't stand talking to them) and we didn't pass drone level 1. Anyway, they sent a request to figure out why I didn't receive the bio appointment yet, and it's going to take other 30 months. In all this, I have a job offer pending that I cannot take until I receive my EAD.

Should I wait, or should I go straight to my Congressman's office this afternoon?

If you have a job pending I would go directly to the Congressman ASAP. Even if you had gotten to the Level 2, they probably would have done the same. Going to the congressman would definitely expedite the process of EAD. Take all the documents showing pending offer.

It can't hurt to call your Congressman's office. Afterall, that's what they're there for. But like I said in my post on Saturday, I'll bet you haven't received your biometrics letter yet because the ASC in Chula Vista is backed up. Mathranik was able to get his EAD expedited with help from his Congressman's office, but, he had already done his biometrics at that point. Let us know what happens. :)

So frustrating! I haven't received the bio appointment notice! And my EAD and AP cases are still unavailable on the website, and over the phone all they can say is that my EAD and AP cases were received on Aug 17. That's all the case status they can tell me.

Has anyone ever tried going physically to the ASC with their NOA1 AOS (and EAD NOA1) in hand and tried to get them to send you the bio appointment notice? Over the phone they cannot even say if they have sent it. They don't have that information. They could have sent it a while back, and could have been lost in the mail, and how do I know? I called last week and they opened a service request. I got an email with the service request response, and all it said is that USCIS had forwarded the ASC my case info so that the ASC could schedule my bio appointment notice. Like if the ASC was not part of USCIS...

Again, contact your congreessman. They all employ people whose job it is to help their constituents with stalled out immigration stuff. Border areas get VERY backed up, across the board (not just with immigration, but also things like SSA), and sometimes it takes a little push to get things done. With an employment offer especially, you should be calling the congressman and say, "Hey, my spouse is a legal immigrant, and has a pending green card, and we are waiting for the biometrics letter and USCIS said to wait another 30 days. They've got a job offer, and we would like an expedited EAD because we need both of us to work to pay our bills (credit cards, student loans, car loans, high rent, etc etc), can you help us get the biometrics letter and help expedite the EAD once we have completed our biometrics?" and more than likely they will say something to the effect of, download this form and we will help you out, and it'll be quickly taken care of. Especially this time of year. Election's only a month away, after all!

It's insane how long people have to wait for their biometrics appointment. I guess some ASCs are swamped. I went in for my biometrics today (in Fargo, ND) and the staff there have days where they have no appointments.

Sorry for the long wait guys. :(

I am in exactly the same situation. My notice date was the 17th of August and still no biometrics appointment. I called last week to log a service request and was told I need to wait the 30 days. Today I received an email from USCIS stating I had called them and logged the service request and that my case is suspended until I complete my biometrics. Its really starting to bother me as my case hasn't even yet been transferred to the CSC office.

I also have a job offer and they are now starting to lose hope as this process has taken so long and I am still far away from an approval.

I sent an email to the local congressman for assistance but haven't heard back if they will be able to help.

Its also starting to cause strain on my relationship. I am just so over the whole process

the only thing I can say, apart from good luck to you, is to call your Congressman's office or go there in person. They are probably "too busy" to reply and email, but they can't ignore a person physically present at their office. they do have a person that takes care of immigration matters, and as others said, elections are coming up and they will want to show that a vote to them wouldn't be wasted.

Please go to the congressman's office ... if this is causing all these types of issues. USCIS has to respond to congressional inquiry so it will expedite the process significantly.

I am waiting for my interview letter, and I suppose around 3 August filers have already received it. The reason of my anxiety being - My AOS and I-130 cases are not online yet! Its already been close to 50 days of sending the application. And, there is no way I could know what's happening with the cases (whether they have been touched, etc). One good things is that I already have my EAD in hands, and I would get my SSN tomorrow. Finally, a driver's license soooon! :)

Thanks for the advice, I have contacted the congressman's office and they asked I complete a privacy release form.

My question is will they still look to expedite the employment authorization even though I am still within the normal processing times?
