Hi August AOS filers!

I'm wondering if anyone else in the group hasn't received their biometrics appointment?

It has been 30 days since we received NOA1 for the EAD. We called USCIS yesterday and were told they would send a 'service request' to USCIS and if we don't receive the appointment in 30 more days to call back.

Anybody else in the same boat?

USCIS received my AOS + EAD + AP on August 27th. It's been almost a month now, and I haven't received my bio appointment.

Don't panic. The Chula Vista office is probably backed up. Check out the posts of obnancy,

She lives in your area and her husband sent in his AOS packet on June 28th and did not receive his biometrics letter until Aug 14th. Then when he tried an early walk-in he was rejected, but he was successful when he drove up the road to the San Marcos office. So, you might have to wait a few more weeks to get your biometrics letter and then go to San Marcos to get it done, but the good news is, fairly quickly after that you should get your EAD approval and GC appointment date. :)

My EAD Card arrived in the mail today :) So - a total of 45 days from mailing the documents, and 30 days from NOA text/email.

But - I presume I need to have a social security card to have a Driver's license issued. I went to the SSA Office, and was informed it may take 2-3 weeks if there is no verification required, or otherwise a total of 4-6 weeks. Does anyone know more about this? And is there a way I can get my driver's license without a SSN?

Any advice would be great! Thanks.

It took for us 3 days! :) It all depends on the system! :( and our system is very old fashion! :(

USCIS received my AOS + EAD + AP on August 27th. It's been almost a month now, and I haven't received my bio appointment.

I sent mine in on August 27 as well and just received biometrics letter on Thursday 9/23. Appointment was 10/14 but we did a walk-in yesterday.

So I wouldn't worry - bet you receive it on Monday.

Don't forget, you can try talking to your congressman to get a congressional inquiry to get USCIS to speed up sending the biometrics. It won't do much for the process overall, but there's a point after which everything relies on biometrics.

I am waiting for the interview letter as well. If you check this link, and filter by interview location (New York City), you'll see some from August have already gotten their interview letters while some are still waiting. So weird the way NYC office works, dont think they follow 'First Come First Serve'.

Thanks for the tip! I called my congressman and got forwarded to one of his office where i spoke to some lady. She is mailing me a consent form today that i have to mail back to her so they can investigate the case with USCIS. Hope this is going to make things move!

This is ridiculous, it's been a month already and I haven't even received my bio appointment letter.

Did you call USCIS for service request?
