So I've been having a few thoughts/questions going on in my head and maybe someone can answer them!

1) If you case hasn't been "touched" since you got the NOA's in the mail and no more notifications, does that mean their not working on it?

2) Do you need to complete the biometric appointment before they continue working on your case?

If anyone knows that'd be really helpful! Thanks!

1) No. My last touch was August 18 but my interview appointment letter was dated September 7, so apparently the scheduling of the appointment did not generate a touch.

2) This question has come up before and I have not seen a conclusive answer. Alot of folks have been transferred to CSC without having even received a biometrics letter, but I haven't seen anyone scheduled for an interview who has not completed their biometrics. But if anyone out there has, give us a shout out. :)

If you read around your case can show up on USCIS and then never have an update on it for the whole time you go through the process, the website is not reliable, so dont rely on it, sometimes you just have to wait for the mail.

Good to know i am also in boston and heading into the office tomorrow for my walkin biometrics my date was the same as yours aswell oct 1. hopefully it goes as smooth for me as it did for you.

It's worth a try (although when I first phoned the office, the automated message said walk-ins are not allowed).

I should have added that I was going to be away on the date of my original appointment, so I had to plead my case a little.

Although I was originally turned away, they were very nice and offered to accomodate me either before or after my date if I came first thing in the morning.

I was asked to bring proof (I did, but didn't have to show it because they remembered me from yesterday).

Good luck!

Update on my case guys... good and bad

Good... that finally today 4 or my 5 cases has appeared in the website my I-485, I-765; my son's I-485 and I-131. My I-131 receipt number is still not showing on the website...maybe tomorrow.

Bad... We got an RFE and I wonder why? The only thing I could think of is my Affidavit of Support since my husband has filed 2 tax forms last year 1 for individual and 1 for his business and if you total up the income it is more than the poverty guidelines. I am not sure yet what it is but its sad... that means process will get delayed :(

Man I want to work :(

There are some July Filers in the Dallas area who are still waiting for their biometrics letter. One just got his AP today, but apparently they need their biometrics done before they can get their EAD.

Hi everyone,

I have mailed my I-485, I-765, I-131 to USCIS Chicago Lockbox on August 14th and got NOAs on Aug 17th.

I am still awaiting the biometrics appointment notice.I called USCIS today and the representative raised a service request since I have not received the appointment letter for biometrics after 30 days from filling.

I currently have a job and my current visa status is L1 which expires on Nov 14th. I could really need my EAD before Nov14 to continue working in my job. Could you please let me know how you were able to expedite the EAD?

Thanks,

Aravind

Thanks,

Aravind
