I just received an email that my AOS application was transferred to CSC today. Is this a good or bad thing now? I read somewhere that cases that got transferred are likely to get approved without an interview but I also read somewhere that they seem to be backed up at the CSC so I don't know whether I should be happy or sad now..?

Good Question! Well, like M + M said, it's a double edge sword. The good part is not having to prepare for and go thru the hassel of an interview. The bad part is not knowing when CSC will finally get around to processing your application. Based on other's timelines, sometimes it's quick & sometimes it's a long wait. At least your EAD should be approved within around 8-10 weeks, so if you do end of waiting awhile for your GC, at least you'll still have your EAD. I was kinda sad when I found out that we were going to have to do the interview, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of knowing ahead of time the date by which we should be done, at least for another 2 years. :)

Hi, all

I am new to the site, but I have learned a lot from your invaluable postings and thank you all for that.

I am also August VJer, I have had H-1b and married to a citizen and applied for AOS and EAD.

My cases start with MSC and I have not been able to track from the USCIS site, but since the biometrics

I can see them from the site. So, anyone having same issue, wait until the biometrics then you will be able to see, I hope..

One question.

If any of your cases are 'TOUCHED', are you notified by either e-mail or text?

Or do you regularly (every day, in my case ^^) check the status from the site and what does it say?

Mine just says 'last updated date'....

Good luck with every one...

 We had the same experience at the Gardena, CA ASC office. We too arrived at 3:15pm, 45 minutes before closing, and the office was empty except for the staff working there. For those of you who still haven't completed your biometrics and plan on attempting an early walk-in, 3:15pm seems to be the magic time. B-)

Congratulations! Seems that inconsistency is par for the course. Ok, then I guess the best strategy in general is to try either early in the morning or late in the afternoon, and if that doesn't work do the opposite the next day. Unless you're in San Francisco, then try at lunch time. :D

I just saw two posts of people who were both notified yesterday that their Green Card is now in production. One was transferred to CSC on Aug 2 and the other on Aug 6. So based on that, you should receive your notice either the last week of Oct or the first week of Nov (about 6 weeks). That's not bad. :)

So I've been having a few thoughts/questions going on in my head and maybe someone can answer them!

1) If you case hasn't been "touched" since you got the NOA's in the mail and no more notifications, does that mean their not working on it?

2) Do you need to complete the biometric appointment before they continue working on your case?

If anyone knows that'd be really helpful! Thanks!
