For K-1's some say 50% but I think quite a bit more like 75-80% recently. I had actually started a topic on transfers a few weeks ago here. According to the people who responded to that poll (48 votes) 83% were transferred.

Despite those statistics, I read in another thread that you are preparing for a possible interview. I have to admit I haven't done any preparation yet because I am hoping we get lucky and my wife gets transferred to CSC. I figure the lead time between when you get the appt letter and the actual appt is about a month, so I am betting that will be enough time to open a joint bank acct and add her name to the utility bills, etc. We already have tons of wedding and honeymoon pics and I have added her to my health insurance at work. Besides, I have read that the interview only lasts about 10 or 15 minutes and for most people goes pretty smoothly. Maybe I'm being lazy but I don't feel like going thru all that and then get a letter that she has been transferred to CSC. Still waiting. :clock: We'll see what happens.

We have not yet been transferred, so better safe then sorry. I don't want to have only a few weeks to prepare if indeed we are not transferred.

Also if they see that you have just opened a joint account etc. it tends to raise red flags that you are doing it just for the interview.

Yes, you are right that leaving only a few weeks to prepare might be cutting it close as far as getting everything together, not to mention that it would be stressful.

As far as the red flags, I would just be honest with the IO and tell him or her that we did do it just for the interview. After all, there is no practical reason why my wife's name needs to be on the utility bills. As for the joint bank acct, my wife wont have any money until she gets her EAD and can start working so there is no need for a joint bank account right now. Plus, she can't get a driver's license until she get's her EAD, so she can't do anything on her own, like go out and spend money. (Public Transportation In Los Angeles is horrible) So actually I would be doing all those things just for the interview, and I think we have legitimate reasons for not doing so otherwise. I think I read somewhere on VJ that the IO's know that 90 days or so is not much time to intermingle your financial life so the bar is set low as far as that goes for the 2 year greencard. Maybe that's another reason why so many cases get transferred. Now the ROC is another story because if you have been married 2 years and you haven't done any of that stuff yet or you just did it right before the interview, that would be suspicious. Anyway, I think you're right, it's better to prepare ahead of time just to avoid the stress of having to put everything together at the last minute, but I'm dragging my feet because I'm hoping to find a transfer letter in my mailbox soon. :)

Can someone clear up how a WALK IN biometrics works? I just feel like in Boston, they might be hard cuz they are so many immigrants here.

Just bring your biometrics appointment paper with you and try to go in earlier. They might or might not let you in to do it but it is worth a try if you are local.

All you have to do is take you appointment letter and photo ID to any Application service center, and try your luck with the security guard, and then the receptionist. Usually, if there isn't much crowd, you would be smoothly allowed in.

I reached the center at 3.40 pm :-) Just 20 mins before it were to close! And I was given token # 76. When I asked the guard if it was a good time that I had come at, he said it was perfect, because if I would've come an hour earlier they wouldn't have entertained me!

Good luck to you for tomorrow

Just received an email RFE for my I-485 .... words cannot describe how upset I am.

I am assuming it was because I didnt go and see a civial surgeon. The reason I didnt was because I had completed all my immunisations before entering the US..

Back to waiting on this again.. I cannot wait for the day I do not need to deal with immigration again. Its so disappointing :crying:

Oh and I never received my biometrics letter.. Will the fact I received an RFE delay the biometrics letter? My NOA1 date was the 17th of November and I can see that people after me have already received their letters.
