We sent our file out 8/23, it arrived 8/25 and we got 3 texts as well as emails today stating that our application has been received. However, our receipt numbers don't show up on the USCIS case status thing yet.

I suppose we should receive the NOA1 soon? I sure hope so. We were concerned that they were going to return our whole application because we had used a later I-485 form (but still valid, according to the USCIS website). Some VJ members who had done the same had their applications returned. Hopefully we've escaped that.

Yep, if they were going to return it for an outdated form they probably would have done so already.

Oh, and is anyone having trouble checking their case status on the USCIS website? It keeps on telling me that both of my case numbers "cannot be found at this time." Are they just not in the system yet? I already received hard copy of NOA so it seems like they should me. The numbers start with "MSC," Does anyone else have the same problem?

It's not outdated actually. Per the USCIS website, it's still accepted. It's just not the newest form. I just think it's weird (and kinda unfair) that some applications are being returned because of that. Apparently not everyone there is getting the memo.

That literally is probably the case though, that some person working the basements of USCIS sorting through packages was not told outdated ones were fine.

If you want a signature timeline just go into the User CP settings, click profile and edit signature. Then you can type in your dates.

If you want to update the actual timeline go to immigration timelines in the top menu, on the far left it will say edit my timeline and you can click in there and post all your info.

A lot of us here are not able to access our cases online, one of them being me! I guess it takes some time before it shows up. Good luck!

I just noticed that most applications are signed by either CHIBA-Chicago... or LBox =Lock Box

So these people don't even sign their names.

Another questions: in your knowledge what's the percentage of people who get their AOS approved based on marriage w/out an interview?

For K-1's some say 50% but I think quite a bit more like 75-80% recently. I had actually started a topic on transfers a few weeks ago here. According to the people who responded to that poll (48 votes) 83% were transferred.

Yeah, it was about 80% transferred in a poll I did earlier. I've got no fears about an AOS interview; we interviewed together for the K1, and I [the petitioner] was actually asked more questions than he [the beneficiary] was. And if we're denied, that's ok too. We'll just immigrate to Brazil.

BTW, I think L Box is an actual person, not "lockbox" - USPS wants them to sign their names, eh. ("Laura Box", "Larry Box")
