We sent ours in 8/23 and it was received today. But I just realized I used the 12/03/09 edition for the I-485 instead of the 7/15/2010 one. And then I read about people getting their application sent back for using an older form. Oy vey. Please let that not happen to us. >_<

Do they even cash our check if we used an older edition of the form? I would hate to pay double just because of that. :S

Bsze - I had this happen to me and the whole application was returned and they requested I fill out the most up to date form that is available online on the USCIS website.

They send the whole application back and do not cash the check. You do not need to double pay for this.

Its a bummer as it just delays the whole process. Good Luck with it.

I submitted my AOS and received NOA1 on the 11th of August. I also saw a touch on the 16th which I hoped to be my biometrics appointment.

But until now I haven't received anything in the mail. Since the post already missplaced my SSN card I am a bit paranoic.

The question is, whether I can check if they sent out an appointment letter or not? I don't want to miss the set date and I am getting anxious.

Thanks for the help.

Anita - I am also in the same boat.. My NOA1 date was the 17th of August and I have two touches on the 18th and the 20th but nothing has arrived yet. I dont think there i a way to check if an appoinment letter was sent or not but you could try calling USCIS to confirm..

I am anxious too as I dont want to miss my appointment.. but we cant do anything but wait...

Interesting - I just checked the I485 I sent and it was "Form I-485 (Rev. 12/03/09) N". My checks have been cashed and the case forwarded to the NBC. The USCIS page here even says "7/15/10 and 12/03/09 editions can be used.".

Sorry this happened to you NewYorkSydney. Sounds like you had someone ultra strict reviewing your file - that really sucks.

How are you seeing touches? My receipt numbers are not showing up on the USCIS site, but we got our hardcopy NOA1 on the 23rd (text msgs on the 20th)...

Is it luck of the draw? As in, you're lucky your info's showing, and I'm not? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

for some people it takes a little time for it to be available online for viewing sometimes its not available at all.. Just keep checking. Have you resigerted for an account on the USCIS website? When you sign in you can assign your case numbers to your profile and then when you sign in you can see if touches were made to your case

Hopefully it will appear for you soon. It took me a few days for viewing

I hadn't set up an account (but I did submit an 1145), but I just did, and I can't add the case(s) yet. It's crazy that it's not all in sync, since you figure that the NOA is computer-generated, so there's some system, somewhere that knows who I am, and what's going on with my case...

I believe most (if not every) case receipt numbers start with MSC. I believe that is completely normal. In other words, we are off to a normal process. USCIS will let us know any good (or bad) news later on...Probably in at least one more week.

Good luck!

For what it's worth, my wife's N400 (naturalization) tracking wasn't available online until about two weeks after she had received the hard copy receipt from USCIS! Don't stress if it's not showing online immediately. She's a citizen now and she was taken care of well within the "current processing times" that USCIS had published back in Feb :)

I saw that on the USCIS page too, so I thought I should be fine. Then I read about people who filed the same form but had their packets returned. That made me panic a little. I'm hoping I get the same person/adjudicator/whomever as you, jcsf.

Did they stamp all over the papers you sent, NewYorkSydney? Did you have to print all your stuff out again?
