As for us, EAD and AP was approved yesterday. Waiting for the EAD card and AP docs now.

We went for May's SSN on Wednesday which they said she'll have in 2 weeks.. Today I mailed out the AOS paperwork.. And now we wait.. :thumbs: :thumbs:

Just recieved a TRANSFER NOTICE.... Those Dumb Fuks transfered our case to California Service Center when we live in New Jersey..It should have went to the Vermont Service Center...

ALL AOS transfers (if it IS transferred) go to CSC. So you are good there.

We received AP today. No EAD so far and no word on AOS (had problems with fingerprinting and two different Alien numbers, so I see InfoPass appointment in our future)...

Any idea about working without EAD but with SSN? Do employers check for that?

Any idea about working without EAD but with SSN? Do employers check for that?

I wouldn't risk that, personally. Plus, employers usually ask for a copy of SS# anyway, or any other document showing an authorization to work in US

After May receives her SSN, she could start looking for work and write 'pending receipt of EAD' for start date on the application. Hopefully by the time the position is ready to be filled, she will have her EAD. Only other option is to work under the table.

Gotcha.. That's not a bad idea.. I'm hoping for a pretty quick turnaround.. Looks like it's a 60-70 deal which is enough time for her/us to get this driving thing sorted out.. :innocent: :innocent:

Ditto Capt. My friend taught his wife to drive and she was always mad because he critiqued her driving. It's amazing that a perfect stanger can critique a woman's driving, but we can't. :bonk:

I assume they'll just return your package, man. No worries.

There's 2 addresses: 1 for USPS, and another for private couriers: UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc

Got the EAD yesterday.

Still nothing on the Green Card, which is somewhat expected. There's also this whole mix-up with two different alien numbers. EAD and AP both arrived with the "new" Alien Number that USCIS decided to assign to my wife. But the latest biometrics notice was on her "old" alien number..... in any case, things are moving.
