When I checked the bank account this morning, it showed that the check has been cashed!

Lili- I noticed that your local DO is in Seattle, where do you live? We are in Puyallup.

If you have seen the amount in your bank account drop and now it is back to original balance, then the check was processed. Banks and merchants these days use an electronic verification system to verify fund availability first, which gets temporarily deducted from the balance, then added back to the balance until the actual transaction is completed. In my opinion, this is a way for banks to charge overdraft fees since they know a certain amount is coming, just not cleared yet which enables them to clear several transactions by using the same funds available.

They cashed our check on Wednesday (8/11) and yesterday our daughter got her letter saying her application to remove conditions was received and dependent on my wife's petition, but nothing yet for my wife. Perhaps today.
