Ali e Jeff - I received word in the same way as FreeAgent - text message, followed by a mad scramble over to a web browser to see if this meant approval, followed by fist pumps and "woohoos" after seeing the good news.

Hi Everyone,

Today I received a blue paper notice of action from USCIS, requesting to submit a signed affidavit regarding any criminal history, supported by police clearances or police records.

"USCIS reviewed your Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence and the supporting evidence. USCIS has been unable to obtain a required FBI criminal background clearance for you

because both sets of fingerprints were rejected as unclassifiable by the FBI."

I had my biometrics last Nov 2, only 2 fingers passed. The officer did a backup of ink finger printing (traditional). She told me, there are people like me who's finger print

could not be read, and that there's nothing I could do about it, its hereditary. Two years ago, when I applied for a conditional residence, I had to

go back and do the finger scan twice, for the same reason FBI/machine could not read. This time, she said in case they could not read the finger scan, we have

a back up copy. I've been praying everything would be ok, until today. I know I have nothing to worry, as I do not have any police records/criminal records. I called our county

sheriff office and they will issue a clearance, I just need to bring ID and the letter request from USCIS. The letter also stated I have until March 10, 2011 to submit requested

documents, upon receipt, it will take them a minimum of 14 days to process the form.

As for the affidavit of criminal history, can anyone please help me or give me an idea or a draft of the document.

I received the email at 11:45AM on a thursday. It came quicker than I could check the website. I encourage you to open an account for email updates, if you haven't already, and hopefully you have a mobile device w/push notifications and you'll know immediately. Like a real person on the other end clicked 'send'

true, there is no logic in this process. my conditional GC took 17 months to get. removing the conditions - 4 months.

Hey Everybody,

We received a letter by mail yesterday, a Notice of Removal of Conditional Basis of Lawful Permanent Residence.

Date of Decision: 12/15/2010

We feel relief, not having to wait longer to know their decision. Good!

But I didn't see any change on the USCIS website, I didn't received any email or text message too.

Also, it says : you are deemed to be a Lawful Permanent...as of the date of your original admission or adjustment of status (our is 11/04/2008).

So that means that a ten year green card is good for me until 2018? Right? So I don't count 10 years from now...

Thank you Lullaby78. I did check online status, but nothing change. Nothing happened, no email, no text message, only the letter by mail...

And it is from Seattle Office.

They are not very consistent on their way to inform their costumers, it is always different.

I hope you get yours before holidays, that would be nice.

Checked the PO box this morning and found my approval letter as well as the new card. Online status still shows 'Initial Review' and I did not get a text message alert or an email although both is set up.

Approval letter is dated 12/14, card was probably received on the 18th as it was mailed on 12/16.

There's an interesting detail about the approval letter I want to share. The letter itself shows a sender as if it was issued by my local Tucson office and shows a date of 12/14, the envelope shows that it was sent from Laguna Niguel, CA (CSC) and was stamped on 12/17. It looks like the approval is actually issued by the local office but then centrally mailed from the Service Center.

Anyway, I wonder if I should switch of the text message notification now as I am kind of expecting a wake up call in the middle of the night when their computer system finally updates all our approved cases to their actual status :blink:

Congratulations MacPara!!! That's interesting that you didn't get any email or text message notification, it makes me wondering if mine has already got adjudicated and is on the way to me! (finger crossed to that).

Anyway, did the envelope postmarked from Laguna, CA? And the letter head itself from Tuscon office? Am I right?

Also, could someone please update Ali e Jeff status and also add me to the list? I just don't want to screw up the format. My time line is as following
