I do not understand about CSC or VSC's Processing methods.

This is really freaking to us.

We paid 585$ for just nothing. Just to wait for 6 months. Though i am on right time for everything my application, my biometric and everything on right time just for nothing.

Relax! CSC approval rate is still 48%. You are in normal processing time

No news is good news Or do you think it's more exciting if you get 2 more biometrics appointment letters after done your bio like some September CSC filers :wacko: ? I guess not :whistle:

Since USCIS start approving September filer, your time will come soon!

It doesn't matter if you sent the file to CSC or VSC...that's not what's holding up the processing of your case. As soon as your fingerprints are cleared your file is being sent to the local office. It is up to them at this point and it all depends on how busy they are to get to your file and make a decision. As you can see in CSC timeline for August filers, the first approval was for someone from ST Louis in less than 1 month and 1/2 and that just shows that their office is not backed up...that's obviously not the case for the West Coast: LA, San Fran, San Jose...they are still waiting and it's all due to their busy local offices.

So you think the adjudication is usually made by local offices? In that case, how come when we look at local office timeline, it doesn't show any info about I-751 processing time at all?

I'm agreeing with the relax advice. There's nothing to fear as long as you have your receipt showing 1 year extension. You'll be approved, then you'll be wondering why it's taking so long for the actual card to come in the mail (trust me). Any day now I'm sure, but there's a reason they grant one year extensions and not 6 month extensions. Relax you've done nothing wrong, right?

Thanks for your comment woodenshoe101. I called my friend whom her I751 just got approved in September asking if her approval letter was sent from local office just like the2ofus or not. She said she threw it away and couldn't remember exactly. However, she told me that while she was waiting for her approval, it took so long that she got curious about the same thing. So she googled around and found a USCIS adjudication memo which in there indicates that all submitted evidences are reviewed and if satisfied will be approved at service center. On the other hand, the case will be forwarded to district office for an interview if not enough evidences were given. So I guess the I 751 table shown in your list might represent the number of cases wating for interview then.

I tried to look for the memo online but I couldn't find it. Anyway, she printed them out, it's like 20 pages something memo. I guess I'll have a look at it next time we meet.

:blink: Why would she throw it away? I would recommend keeping anything USCIS sends you... you never know when it may come in handy.

I sort of have the same feeling you do - the number of I751s at the local offices is not nearly high enough to account for all I751s submitted. I don't know for a fact that all cases get transferred to local offices, the link I gave was merely an example that local offices do handle I751s on a small volume basis. My thoughts are that the approval doesn't really come from the local office in most cases, but they print the name of the office that has jurisdiction over your filing address, so it looks like it came from there (i.e., if any problems arise, you will go to the local office, not the service center). If you really want to know where they send it from, look at the postmark on the envelope - it should have the zipcode the letter originated in.

Well, I went for my biometrics this morn. It took longer to find a parking space than the appointment time, and virtually no wait, either! I'd taken a book to read that I'm totally engrossed in, and the security officer said I wouldn't get much of it read. She was right...no sooner had I opened my book than I was called. Excellent customer service, pleasant people...only complaint was I didn't have time to read...;-)

Yeah, no kidding. Especially as I missed a Christmas party to go to the ASC today! Didn't want to risk going early just in case there were issues. I try to keep it all simple. In this process you just never know when you might hit a roadblock. Still, I'm happier with easy peasy after a 4-month wait than a total nightmare. Let's see how long the next part of the waiting game is... :whistle:

One of the reasons, and the only one I can think of right now, to send an application to the local office is an interview. These are rare with I-751s which would explain why the stats show just a small number of I-751s handled by the local offices.
