What are the procedures to get a tourist visa to Scotland?

I wish to visit Scotland. When is the best season and what are the procedures to get a tourist visa? And what are the rules and regs and dos and don'ts? I might travel alone or with my bf

I dont' think you'll get a tourist visa for Scottland, you'll get one for the UK.

But then again, this site is for people wishing to come to the US, not go to Scottland

I'm unsure where your from, but if your a USC than you can travel to Scotland/UK without a visa. It's similar to the VWP. You can visit up to 6 months, without working and with proof that you'll return home.

I've visited Scotland before with my husband who's English. We went in November and it was so bitter cold! I'd go in the summer months, June-Sept. I'd think it'd be similar to the English weather which is an awful lot of rain.

You need to let us know from which side of world you are trying to travel and second as mentioned earlier this forum is for US travel.

Also as earlier post said it gets chilly in scotland during winter months, but they dont get that heavy snow, but weather is wet and cold most of the time.

Main cities are Edinburgh, Glasgow but lot of tourist places in and around Edinburgh with one of the best castle in Scotland, Princess Street, Royal Mile, palace (if queen is not in Scotland) its still the royal residence, are the few things to see.

Definately underground Edinburgh with its tales of ghost and paranormal is another thing not to miss when there.
