From what I have seen and read over the years.

If you admit to drug use during your interview or medical in Philippines your Visa will be denied.

I know that...... but everything is in the hands of the CO. There were girls that i have same situation as mine and they got approved after couple of months. My question is why would the CO keep my passport if i am denied already.

I wouldn't worry why the CO is keeping your passport.

If it was me I would be finding a lawyer in PI that deals with Immigration Issue and see if they can dig you out of the hole you have put yourself in. Lawyers are very cheap in PI and your fiance should have no problems retaining a lawyer, I wouldn't sit back and wait I would be proactive

one post removed, along with post in cited thread removed.

reminder to all:

it is against vj terms of service to "Condone or instruct, either directly or indirectly, others on how to commit fraudulent or illegal immigration activities in any way, shape, manner or method."

further instances of the above will result in this thread being locked and possible admin action being taken.

I was only stating an obvious reason for visa denial. Admitting to drug use is grounds for automatic visa denial...especially in my country, Philippines......correct?

I did not (and would not ever) in anyway encourage or instruct how to commit illegal immigration activities.

I am offended that you would infer that I was. (and) Seems a bit excessive that you would threaten administrative action.

I give you benefit of the doubt that you are just trying to keep the cookies in the cookie jar...so to speak....and trying to maintain proper TOS. Or are you continuing your agenda to kill our internet? :D

I don't think Charles deleted the post, he was talking about people telling him/her to deny drug use

Yes you are correct, Admitting to drug use is ground for automatice visa denial in Philippines. Other countries will overlook it, but not in Philippines

I dont have to worry about getting a lawyer since i dont have any final denial yet. Would be better for me to wait coz i had seen few people getting lawyer and after couple or few of months they got approved. We dont do anything right now cept keep calling USEm. :)

Did you read the pinned thread by NinJones? The last person who posted there shared her thoughts about divulging past drug encounters at SLMEC. I know someone who was sent to the Fraud Prevention Unit (it wasn't drug related) and she was approved after two months. Your case is under investigation so call the Embassy and ask about the stat

I didnt read much about getting a visa before. Wish i saw NinJones post before, i didnt know why i was confident before taking med exam and interview, didnt know that being honest will lead me into trouble. Im not losing hope yet.

Thank you guys who give time on reading my problem and replying. I do really appreciate it! Will let you all know whenever i get the result and hopefully soon, I hooooope. God Bless You All!

To MJ&S, Just to clarify, it wasn't NinJones who advocated lying about drug use. It was another VJ user whose post has been deleted in the SLMEC Walkthrough thread by NinJones.

I quoted the comment of anonymousperson from the SLMEC Walkthrough thread which was removed by one of the administrators. Anyway, thetallcoolone is right, you should consult an immigration lawyer regarding your situation. If you don't feel that you need one yet and seek finality on your case then send the Embassy an email and call them weekly to see what happens. They have to respond to you sooner or later.

Ur talking about automatic denial but how come they didnt do that to me? I know most of the applicants got denied right after the interview and returned thier passport back.

New hope for people who 'admitted' drug use to doctors at St. Luke's

Thank you for posting about your situation. For me, it was very timely, as my fiancee is having her medical at St. Luke's today and tomorrow.

The moment I read this thread, I sent her a text message instructing her to never ever admit to any kind of illegal drug use, even if it was just trying marijuana in high school or during college. Now I doubt she has used illegal drugs anyway, but it is unfortunate that an honest experiment on just one occasion in one's youth, could jeopardize a loving relationship and possibly ruin an opportunity permanently.

So while I doubt Sarah had ever tried drugs, as she does not smoke, drink, or gamble, we have never really discussed the issue, and forewarning her was a safety precaution. She responded to me, "I will say no honey, don't worry."

Thank you for discussing your situation, so others can possibly avoid the same difficulties you now find yourself dealing with.

Folks, we can't put the board mods and admins in a position where they have to lock the thread, delete comments, or otherwise protect themselves from the immigration thugs that would love to beat up on them for allowing comments that approve of felonies.

Obviously, the government lies about just about everything. They murder with impunity, tyrannize the innocent, and shovel billions to the banks that caused the derivative and housing crisis in the first place. Hypocrisy to the max. But they're the ones with the tanks, atom bombs, black ops prisons and a hundred thousand lawyers to drain you in the so-called justice system.

So therefore we have to walk a tightrope between sharing information, yet not putting the board in jeapordy.

I've had a pretty rowdy life and am lucky to be alive. My instructions to my wife were to answer no to every question that would get us in trouble. Because that's the truth, baby.

Got it?

Let me give you a word or advice.

Just because it is written or just because you see it on TV, that doesn't make it valid or true

Do you believe in BigFoot, cuz I can find you thousand of written about him.

I cant believe there are some people here who were trying to push me more down instead of encouraging to be strong or wishing me luck. Well, if you couldnt say anything that is helpful better not to write any negative thoughts. Thank you for the effort and please i dont want to read any ideas from you. Thank you again!

given the above, this thread seems to have run it's course. i'm locking it to prevent further replies that the op could interpret as unhelpful and to stop any more posts that skirt the tos - the only thing missing from some of those replies is a "wink wink nudge nudge"

should the op wish for the thread to be reopened, feel free to pm me or another mod and we'll make it so.
