Hello everyone, just need some advice on what I should do. My fiancee recieved her packet 3 via email, and they told us not to wait for the hardcopy and to go ahead and collect all the documents that are needed. We recieved the notification on July 21st. I have all the documents and was just about to send her the affidavit of support with supporting documents and ongoing relationship proof until a horrible flood attacked the entire Northwest province on pakistan. My fiancee had to abandon her house due to 9 feet of water piling inside. Hundreds of people killed, and thousands stranded on rooftops. Fortunately, I have family in the area so she and her entire family are all at my family's home. Im waiting on sending the packet now due to the mail service being delayed temporarily. How long do you normally have to get these documents to the embassy?? Islamabad is where the interview will be, but there are like 12 - 15 bridges knocked out on the way from Peshawar to Islamabad. From terrorism to natural disasters, its just one thing after another over there, and I just want to get her here as quickly as possible. Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

Hey Khan,

I can understand your pain. according to indian embassy they sent out P3 over two weeks ago. But due to heavy rains and mudslides all the mail is getting delayed. So right now we don;t even know if P3 is just delayed or lost in ether. I did email the embassy and they sent me the forms and the packet 3 info that I forwarded to her. But still..

Regarding when the documents need to be at the embassy, all I can say is that it depends on the packet 3 instructions. The indian packet 3 specifically states NOT to send the supporting documents with the DS-230 and the applicant statement. All the supporting documents goes with her on the interview day. I can ssume tha's how it is in pakistan. So I guess, she'll need all the documents there before her interview. My advise, SEND THEM TO HER NOW. So that even if they get delayed because of the delivery service not working you'll have the peace of mind that its in the pipeline. Also try to send them by courier (fastest way possible) because in my experience the private courier services will find alternate ways of getting the packages delivered, rain or shine.

Because if she shows up without the documents they are going to deny her visa.

I am not sure if this helps.

If I am incorrect, somebody correct me before we send Khan down the wrong road

Well, the interview has not been set up yet. We have to submit the affidavit of support and supporting documents along with the ds 230, 156,156k, 157 and after that i believe we get the interview date. I was just wondering how long do I have before these documents must be submitted? is there a deadline?

Wow thats rough! There is no timeline on the packet 3 itself, but there is an expiry on the approved petition. So I would worry about that.

Best of luck, I hope everything turns out well.
