Soo we just got married 7/20/10 and are getting ready to file for AOS. Kinda nervous even though I have been reading up and down on everything that needs to be sent in. Anyone have any tips or advice on what to send or what not to send other than the sticky thread in this forum? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

thanks!!

Aww, congrats and good luck on your AOS journey!

What helped me was reading other filers' experiences in this forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/131-adjustment-of-status-case-filing-and-progress-reports/

Feel free to introduce yourself in your month's filers thread, too! :star:

I'm not sure what you're asking but if you stick to the instructions on I-485 (and I-765 and I-131), you will be just fine. They are very self-explanatory and AOS is nothing to be nervous about.

Here's a very helpful list for K-1 adjusters.

Good luck

So here is a question on the I-765 form, question 16 asks for eligibility, says go to Part 2 of the Instructions, Eligibility Categories, In the space below place the letter and number of the category you selected from the instructions.

Kinda confused on that, might just be because I didnt read it right or because I'm tired... haha

What should I put here? Or where should I get the info from?

Awesome! Thanks :)

There are three spaces to put info, so it'd look like © (9) ( ) right? Should something be in that last spot?

My husband and I got married at the end of May and I still haven't started to gather together anything to start filing for my AOS. My I-94 expires on August 22nd so I'm hoping we can get it all put together and of in the mail to start the filing process before then.

I've moved here to Iowa from British Columbia, so this is still a big adjustment for me, hence the semi-procrastination. I'm just worried that, even though I went to get my SSN after we got married, it's still in my maiden name. Is that going to affect how we file any of the paperwork?

I kinda just want to get things on the go so I can get my AP so I can fly home to see my family.

Everything is just so daunting. I have a few friends who are going through the same thing that I try to lean on, but they can only help me so much, plus I only get to talk to them online. I would love to find some people in my area that have gone through or are going through the process to give me some advice and guidance.

Sorry, I'm getting all emotional when I talk about it. But I guess this is the best place to let it out.

Thanks, everyone.

Sooo I have another question, about the I-131 form, I think that is the travel form, do we need to send that in with the AOS packet? If so, it says something about a date that we want to travel, but dont have a exact date yet, what should I put there?

hmm, apparently I have two accts... LOL
