This is a concern of filers in the ROC forum as well. IMO I would leave it as is. USCIS and NVC have so much information on you already that bank account numbers are the least of it.

We are due to file for removal of conditions in March of 2011 but I have already started to put aside documentation. All of the copies I have of bank statements, credit card statements etc. are going to be sent in with all information visible.

Let us know what you decide.

Now so news on my progress. I just received an Email from NVC for my invoice and DS3032. I paid the invoice ASAP and feel good because I accomplished something today.!!! haha about time So I will be moving right along and hopefully keep this dog hunting... Got to update my AOS to include the latest months account statement but that not a big deal...

I'll be interested to hear what NVC says. I would suggest keeping copies with the account numbers visible for your interview just in case.

OBX I spoke to the NVC rep regarding the blacking out of Account numbers on financial documents. I told her I was not employed and that I would have to provide financial documentation showing my ability to support my wife. According to her no one had ever ask that before. She told me you're sending this to the state department. I ask her what she meant by that. In my view government employees are not any more ethical than the private sector. Then she said she needed to speak to her supervisor. Here was the response was. The NVC only collects the paperwork and forwards it to the Embassy. The Embassy makes all the calls with regards to whether a case is approved or not. She said I certainly can black the numbers out but the NVC does not know how the embassy would look at that. Or if they would accept it. Then she told me that they may not accept my being unemployed. I told her that I exceeded the published poverty guidelines that are published on their web site so if I meet those requirements How could they not approve me. She said again its up to the Embassy... To me that's bull. But I didn't tell her that. I guess time will tell. What an organization... POWER TO THE PEOPLE>>>

I have confirmed the email addresses to the operator at NVC on 30th july. I have still not received any email from them.

Do i have to wait or call them again to ask them to send me AOS bill/DS3032 ?

If you spoke to the operator and update your e-mail. You can send E-mail (DS-3032) choice of agent to NVC, you dont have to wait for them you need to speed up the processes. You can use VJ .

Very interesting Tom. Perhaps you can start a thread asking for advice from other VJers that have used financial assets rather than employment income to qualify. I know there have been some; they may be the best people to ask. I'm not too familiar with this so I think a separate thread might draw out more experienced filers to help.

As far as the consulate/embassy making the final decision, I would agree. There have been more than a few stores of filers that flew though NVC only to be held up at the interview stage for documentation (covering a variety of issues, not limited to financial) that wasn't satisfactory as far as the consulate was concerned. Frustrating for sure but what about this process isn't!
