Jesal, I could be wrong but I beleive for each of the 3 past tax years you need w-2, 1099, and 1040 unless you get transcripts from the IRS for those years. Then you dont need the W-2s and 1099s if you have transcripts. Also you should show other items of net worth like Checking & Savings account, Real Estate (debt/property tax), vehicles (first one doesnt count but show it) I would also show IRAs and 401Ks if any. I would show past 3 months statement on these and titles or registration on vehicles.

Damn Tom, how big was your I-130 packet that you sent in?

I always like to follow the K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid)

Here is what most of the shortcuts say and well as others on the forums.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/262563-july-2010-nvc-thread/page__st__150__p__4043674#entry4043674

Recommended AOS package:

I-864 Coversheet (with barcode) for payment of $70

Form I-864 (signed and dated)

2009 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2008 Federal Tax Return and W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2007 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS Tax Transcript

Letter of Employment

Pay stub(s) from the most recent six months

Bank Statements.

I just figured I would keep mine simple so it can be processed faster. That way whoever is doing my case doesnt have to go through a stack of info just to approve it. I could be wrong though. :)

Anyone know how long it takes to get the tax transcripts if i ordered them on Monday? Maybe its easier to go that route so i dont make any mistakes.

HAHA I love the KISS formula but my life refuses to live by it. I know what you're saying Jesal but I am not employed so I have to show $$$ somewhere. I also dont have a co sponsor so I have to show all I can... I dont think I have a problem but I dont want to leave any doubt. It took me 14 days to get mine. The good news is they are free.

Simple is definitely better. It makes sense to provide more information if you require a co-sponsor or you are not employed. For all others this is what I included.

I-864 barcoded Coversheet

Form I-864 (signed and dated)

2009 Federal Tax Return/W2

2008 IRS tax transcript/W2

2007 IRS Tax Transcript/W2

Employment letter including salary information and date of hire. I asked my boss to indicate that I am in good standing.

1 Pay stub (most recent because I have been employed at the same job for a while)You don't need to include 6 months unless you can prove that you have been employed at the same job for a while. They are concerned about stability.

If you have any discrepancies make sure to include a note about it. For me, I had to explain discrepancies with my salary information. My AOS was accepted pretty quickly without RFEs. I guess you have to anticipate any questions they may have for you.

Mrs. Thomas

NVC:
