Tena- You DS3032 has to be accepted before they will make the IV available to be paid online. You may or may not receive the invoice for it before hand. If it shows that it is ready to be paid online, just pay it :)

Congrats to cjb115! Did you call NVC to double check?

It seems like a few people have received their SIF's in 3-4 weeks time. Much better than 6-8.  I hope this will be true for the others waiting here :)

And #######. I just noticed that the pics I have for my husband aren't exactly 2" x 2". They're the same size and type as the ones sent in for the i-130, though. Will this net me an RFE? Ugh - panic mode on.

Hey there !

I would suggest retaking the pics and making sure they're 2 x 2. We got an RFE for the photos and the one we had sent in weren't the exact size.

Good luck!

Woo hoo bwelty! What size are your pics? They might get an RFE. If not then the interview is where you really will need them to be the correct size. The embassy isn't nice about those things being slightly off.

Oh yeah, I knew it was you Nica that had that issue. I was also going to suggest asking you :P

Would be at least a week...the Royal Mail is fairly notorius for slowness. The graphics guy at work spends all day long touching up photos, doing re-designs for advertising, etc etc so i'm pretty confident he can scan this and embiggen it by just a tad to make it work.

Thanks! :) I tried calling NVC a few times today and it was busy...I'll try again when I wake up in the morning and let you know! I, too, hope the speedy processing continues for everyone still waiting!

That sounds cool, but if not, what I did (I'm the beneficiary) is I took the pics here on a Sunday and sent them by Fedex directly to the NVC Monday morning. But in this case, you're still getting the package together right?

Maybe he can send it by Fedex to you? It's just an idea in case the resizing doesn't work. I paid $40 and it took 2 business days, not sure how much would it be from the UK (I'm in Nicaragua, Central America).

Thanks Triaxxx you shared more than enough. Your right all cases and Reps are different. I dont forsee any of that happening to us. She has never been to the states and has a good job with a well know company in Los Banos for the last 16 yrs.

Glad it worked out for you in the end thats what really matters. I have a bigger battle with my wife than anything else. She was speaking of taking the bus to Manila for her medical and at the end of the day taking the bus back. Its about 2 1/2 hours each way and I told her just to get a hotel but she doesnt feel safe.haha I told her to bring one of her strongest nephwes along for protection. I think she just lets her emotions direct her rather than reasoning sometimes. I was suprised to hear that she went by bus with a girl friend of hers to visit some of my friends in Zambales. She had a great time and of course once there was safe as can be. Her friend didnt want to go back to Los Banos...haha

Thanks again...

Oh I have one question for you . Was the interview in English? She can speak English but is most comfortable with Tagalog.

Definitely in English. She will be speaking with US consular officers who are nothing less but a pain in the .....

Bottom line, 3 words, "presence of mind"... as long as your wife can be witty enough and really, by knowing your whole case and what is required, then she can answer appropriately. Filipinos tend to answer too much or give out too much info. Just be concise and answer whats being asked for.

Another example, my salary/tax returns were below minimum levels for 08 and 09 years, only this year am i making decent money... but really, in the info published on the embassy website, it is the current salary (or was it current tax year) that should be considered. If my wife didn't point that out, then they could have pulled one under her. Good luck. Any questions, just ask.
