Can anyone tell me approximately how long does it take to go from submitting all of the documents to NVC to the interview? I thought that after the I-130 was approved everything would be fast, but I keep hearing six-eight weeks at NVC and another two months for the interview. This is almost as long as the I-130 approval. Some VJers have short times listed, around a month total time but the majority seems to be around four months. Is there any way to speed up the process? Thanks in advance.

Well on the 17th we had a rain that dumped lots of water on us. I mean lots so the culvert at the corner of my property could not handle it and it backed up. This culvert is 24 " dia. In doing so water got under the house. The the night of the 18 we got another Super rain over our area and it happened again. My water meter or the water line sank and when it sank the pipe pulled away from the connection. So I spoke with the water company and they said its on me. TO make this a short story I could see they were not wanting to deal with it an the fix isn't that hard so I said F*#K it I will fix the darn thing. I took off the old connection at the meter and went looking for a replacement. After going to 4 pluming houses I found out that Nobody had what I needed because the water meter isnt standard or some thing like that. Well I get back to the house and notice it hot in side. Well my duct work got soaked during these flood events and was not letting the air push into the house. So no AC... So the next day I go to the water company and talk to the maintenance guy and he gives me a connection for the meter. I went under the house and pulled all of the moisture barrier out to facilitate pumping out the water. I have been pumping for two days now. I haven't been able to fix the water because the area is still flooded with water where the meter is and I cant dig up the water line to fix it. I am too old for this SH@#$T and once my wife gets here She can enjoy the house over the winter and we are selling it in the spring...

Sorry that this is so long but there was a lot of stuff happening ...

TOMD!!!! how are you doing buddy! got A/C yet?? I hope so!! Hang in there!!

I know what you mean about the time frame being all over the map. It looks like you submitted your package before me so I would think you would be getting an interview before me. That of course is based on all Embassies being the same. I we submitted documentation that is more detail than we sent in for our I-130. So how long or short the time is I think, depends on how simple and clearly you package and present your case. The clearer, straight forward, and financially stronger you can are will make for a faster process. We are not all on equal footing here either. That is why I think we see a greater fluctuation. It will also help if we get a competent NVC rep looking at our case but that is just the luck of the draw. I am expecting my package to be approved in the 6-8 week time frame you stated above. I have seen some get their Case Complete notice in 4 weeks. Then I would hope an interview would be forth coming after that in 2-3 weeks. But that's all guess work on by behalf I would love it to be sooner but am trying to be realistic.:blush: So my best case scenario would be completion date of Sept 16 and and interview of Sept 30. Worst case would be Completion Oct 14 with interview on Nov 4. This is all a WAG. I guess I just have to see how it plays out. I am sure others have different thoughts. I dont believe in divine intervention and think each of us has the power to make our journey as smooth as possible by having exibited honest, goal oriented values, hard work, while having reasonable and realistic expectation. Good luck to Us All

Thank you for replying. When the case first got to NVC they told me 6-8 weeks so I'm hoping that the 4 weeks since then counts, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't. In any event the representative I talked to on Friday told me that there was no chance for a September interview. It seems that they finish booking interviews by the second week of the month, so I'm really hoping for a quick case complete so that we can make an October interview. Probably being too optimistic; I should probably be thinking November/December. Overestimating would probably spare some of my sanity, or at least what's left of it. Tunisia is a pretty quiet embassy and they told me that their part should be very fast, so at least that's good news. It's hard to make a reasonable expectation when the process is so hidden from view; it would be nice to know exactly what is happening each step of the way but I guess that's asking too much.

By the way, what's the purpose of the DS-3032? When I called NVC they told me that they have me listed as the attorney and the petitioner. Will submitting that form help anything?

Your spouse appointed you as their Rep, so in fact you are the person with legal authority and act as her attorney in effect. Some may choose to do otherwise.

Great news Triaxxx I'm Jealous!!!:yes::lol: Can you share without details the basics of what she tripped over in the interview?

Hi TomD. Since your wife will be going through the Manila Embassy, I can share some of the stuff she went through. But as you know, in general, all our cases will be treated differently since we have different backgrounds.

For her, they questioned her travel history. Even though I thought it was not anymore related to our IR1 case. She initially came to the US in 05 with me as a tourist. then she converted to h1b so she could stay legally. then she went home last jan because of a family matter and had overstayed 3 months after the h1b. we only did this because i was to become a citizen so i figured 3 months won't have repercussions. They gave her a hard time for this. In the end, they couldn't find holes as my wife had the presence of mind to answer each query, like why she converted to h1b and overstayed afterwards. They tried to ask for her old, old passport with her tourist visa (expired) and thank God it was in the car so she ran outside and submitted it back. She said she wasn't gonna leave without a decision... she initially got a blue slip but when they saw the passport, they gave her the pink slip and approval....

i can elaborate but maybe not in here. let me know if i can help...
