Okay, I know I am not the brightest bulb in the closet. Thats acceptable to me. I have still managed to eek out a modest living for most of my life. So having said that I send in a question regarding my wife's Passport to the NVC. I was hoping they would be able to give me some guidance or clarify what I needed to do. Here was the question I had:

I have a question regarding my wife's Philippines passport. Upon receipt

of the IV DS-230 Invoice from the NVC, I will be submitting our IV

package. I have a copy of my wife's passport which is still valid for 2

more years. However, this passport is in her maiden name. She is in the

process of renewing her passport but the new one will not be completed

and ready at the time I submit the IV DS-230 package. Will it be

acceptable to submit her current passport BIO page with the IV package

and for her to bring in her new passport with the proper name and a copy

of her Bio Page with her to the interview?

Thanks you for your assistance

Respectfully,

Tom,

NVC employee's are not the brightest bulb in the closet either!!!

I asked them a very simple question, my wife was approved at USCIS, (noa-2), my step son however was not due to an error on my part. My question to them was advice as to if I should wait until his approval came to submit all papers together or how the two would be connected once both were at NVC......

Their response....

Please submit all:

petitioners dob, beneficiary dob, both case numbers......

For god sake people!!! this is not a confidential question or asking for a confidential answer...... this is very basic!

I did however in the first email give them the USCIS number for my step son, and the nvc number for my wife, along with my introducing myself.....

Just government BS in my opinion........God love our Masiah!!!! Can't blame this one on Bush!

THIS IS THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED FROM NVC

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

Please submit the requested documents to the NVC for review.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the

NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will

expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents

will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration

process.

Sincerely,

Jesus

WHAT??? Well to be fair the response only took 7 days so maybe they didn't have time to fully understand the question. :bonk: Is it me or have I so poorly ask my question that a 5th grader would not be able to understand it? HELP ME cause I am just amazed with this response. I like the fact that Jesus responded to me but... No wonder things move so slowly. Maybe I should send NVC and Evelyn Woods reading course for Christmas as a means to reduce the waste and abuse in Government.

I did reply by apologizing for asking my question so poorly that they were not able to understand it. I also ask that perhaps a supervisor there might be able to decipher my message and let me know what I failed to communicate to them to prevent recurrence. :help:

TALK ABOUT SHOCK AND AWE... What kind of qualification are required to work at the NVC? We are doomed...:rofl:

As a Tax payer I find it upsetting that our Government or their workers are so inept.

Two comments, NVC specific -

-- the fees you paid to NVC cover a portion of Jesus' salary

-- Jesus works for a Contractor, Serco Inc., so you really should be hammering them for any ineptitude. Later, though, not today.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks for that info. I worked as a government contractor for years and in every contract I ever read it required the contractor to provide trained and qualified people. Its also the Governments responsibility to provide oversight of their contracts. Nope I will not be making any noise today or for quite a few days...

i was reading through the NVC online payment...and it says on there that the payment has to be through e-check payment. i was wondering, when it times come for me to start paying the fees online, does the bank account have to be my bank account? or can it be another person's checking account? the reason why i ask is because when it comes time to pay the AOS and the IV fees, my parents agreed to help me out by loaning the fees to me. but it would be too cumbersome to have the money be given to me and deposited in my own account. was thinking it would just be easier to pay by entering their bank information for the payment.

Hey nomad!

Take it easy for a few days and inquire about the case number in about 4-5 days. (Although I'm not sure if it takes longer these days.) When you get the case number from an operator also make sure they have your and your wife's email addy so they can send you all correspondence via email.

They will then send you an invoice for the AOS to ba paid online.

And yes, you can use your parents' account too. It doesn't have to come from you. For payment they will need the routing # and bank account # where the fees are to be withdrawn.
