You will have to wait until NVC has scheduled your interview date and your package has been DHL-ed to Chennai.

You may then request an earlier interview date directly to the Chennai IV unit, but given how busy the Indian consulates are, your request, in all likelihood, will be turned down unless you can provide documented proof of an emergency.

Frankly, I'm not sure what the time-line currently is from submission of DS230 to case completion.

The same thing applies for all Indian consulates -- I had asked for my interview to be moved up and I was told that there were no vacancies.

Mumbai does schedule interviews during the last week of the month (which Chennai doesn't do quite often) but they are not for the next month. They are for the following month. If you're done by the 23rd of August, you can expect an interview date to be assigned that week for early October.

For an October interview, you will basically have to have a case completed by September 10.

Enjoy your service and thanks for your prayer. I put my NVC number in the upper right hand corner of all the paperwork I sent in. Didn't write my name on anything other than signature on Content & Clarification Letter.

Mine is in the mail as they say so it should be there Monday... I sent it Priority Mail. OH now I will just lay back and WHISLE...:whistle::whistle::D

I will be sending the two packs tomorrow to NVC:

  • I-864 and DS-230 with supporting documents separated but in the same envelope. Will send to the address on the printed cover sheet.
  • Sending copies of each packet (everything sent to them needs a set of copies)
  • Sending it next day UPS
  • I left nothing blank on both forms

Also on DS230 application I put N/A for his employment because it has been off the books and it's irrevelant, I want to be consistent as well since on the I-130 I put N/A for occupation and employer.

So you know there is a small correction to the address that is printed on the barcoded coversheet. The 4 digits that occur at the end should technically be 2914 On the barcoded coversheet it says 2909, but this number is outdated and wrong.

You can go to www.usps.com and look up the most up-to-date complete zip code representation for the NVC address on 31 Rochester Avenue to confirm. Or you can inquire with the NVC to confirm.

That being said, there does not seem to be any problem with writing 2909 in the last 4-digits, it will still get there. However 2914 is the correct extended zip code, as per the NVC and the USPS.

Just hoping it doesn't take as long as it did to review it the first time. Took 6 weeks and thats not including the week it took for them to enter it into the system. Any help much appreciated....Thanks

You are looking for an AOS FEE BILL in an email attachment -

it will have the IIN inside of it.

recheck yer emails from NVC, see if any file attachments (usually in PDF) then open them, review and print them.

if you don't have any AOS FEE BILL via email from NVC -

call NVC back, ASK for the AOS FEE BILL to be emailed to you.

might be a good time to review:

Thanks everyone for your help !! Thanks for the reading Darnell as well !!

I called the NVC and because we opted for email processing, she said it is a little slower to start off. They just finished processing our request yesterday and the lady said I should receive my AOS fee bill in a few days. If we don't receive it to call back towards the end of next week.

I864 doubt again.. if someone could share your opinion, pls.

We are including photocopies of 2009, 2008 and 2007 federal tax returns.

so in I864 for question number 25. Should we check the first box or the second one or both?!

Confused becuse first box says, 'for ONLY the most recent tax year.' and the second box says, 'for my second and third most recent tax years'
